Very strange incoming links to my website

Hello there,

I was observing my awstats and I noticed many incoming links to my website from similar websites like:

s e x y n o v e l s net
When I go to these websites, I open the Web Page Source and I search for links to my website but there isn't any.

Can this harm my website? Why does this happen?

I have a couple thousand links like this to one of my sites too. They have been there for months. I don't think anything negative has come from them though.
 
Yeah, someone is using a tool like Scrapebox to ping their URL to your referrer logs. The clever ones spoof intriguing URL's like website.com/forums/Is-this-guy-doing-something-illegal.html, which of course entices you to click on it which results in you being redirected.
 
Well porn links can definitely hurt your site imho

I say this from my own experience/ w 2 sites that I own

One was spammed by a domain which would give me 500+ links/ day ( the rankings stayed the same )

And the other was spammed ( probably by competition ) with hundreds of porn links per day => -500 penality

I think you can block the links that you don't want but I don't really know how to... search for it

we would like to know how to block these link from entering our websites
 
I have the same issue with my site when checking in coming links in awstats as well, HOWEVER when I check my G analytics they don't show up there. I've been all over G webmaster tools forum with this same concern and the answers from all of the top contributors that I could find is, there's nothing that you can do about it and G ignores them anyway. I find it hard that they ignore them completely but I think they just don't give them the positive weight that quality backlinks get. As one contributor said, If G penalized for having those type of links then we would stop improving our sites and just NUKE our competitors with bad backlinks.
 
Ref. Spam certainly.
You can block IP via .htaccess file.

any available free referrer spam bot ? other than Scrapebox ?
