right so i've been steadily going up the ranks for my KW for the last few weeks, i've been careful about anything i've been doing such as link building and been doing it all manually etc anyway i was seeing results each week, i was sitting at 13 on thursday but today when i checked i wasn't in the top 100 at all! i checked google and my site hasn't been deindexed so its not sandboxed i presume, so what do you guys think would this just be dancing?

so what happened with this? was it just doing the dance or is it really gone? I have a site climbing up too and now it's falling a bit so I'm trying to figure out what the heck is going on..

Same happened to me, building links and got my site to spot 8. Then it suddently dissapeared somewhere into the 300-500 position and a few days later it came back to #1.

That was a month ago, my site has been sitting on #1 ever since.

yeah happens alot of time to me, thats simply termed as Google Dance Previously and now Panda Dance :)

ah glad to hear that hopefully it comes back soon lol

Depends on how old is the site. If you overdid linkbuilding on a brand new site, or even a brand new article ;), it may be gone for a long time... But from what you write it should be OK again very soon.

well its about a month and a half old, but my link building has been gradual nothng major as i'm doing it manualy

Some of these suggestions might help.
-maintain the rate at which you build the links
-use anchor text variation for kw
-basic seo: make sure your kw is present in title and meta description
-don't stop building

yea i've been focusng on the one anchored text KW i must start making diff variations of it

troll much? :(

Yeah and i forget to tell you one more important thing "Never stop building your Backlinks" If you dare to stop, Google will dare to Kick your ass :)

Try to search your site on Yahoo and Bing, and see if your website is there, Google also dance my new site from orginal rank#6 on first page. I think I got a better result after my site return and at the mean time, I am trying to build some quality backlinks from PR6-PR9 sites. Thx

I'm pretty sure I've been through this with every keyword I've ever ranked. It's never a straight shot to #1. High PR backlinks seems to lessen the time dancing.

I have a two year old site that does two months thriving then two months dancing again and again and again so it is not ALL about the age of the site. You get used to it.

don't worry about this mate! The most important thing to do now is to stay calm! it's probably just google dance. I had my site off the top100 for almost 1 month, when it suddenly came back to the 2nd position! google is doing such things more often now then before. like I said, stay calm and continue working on your projects! it will be solved pretty soon if you ask me!

regards,
z
