How to clone a website

So I am trying to clone a website and load it on my server. I have ripped the site and I have all the files in a folder but when I load it on the server it only shows the index. What I am doing wrong? I think it probably has something to do with the php script or something but I am not sure. Any help would be appreciated

If it has php script you cannot rip it off unless you have the server access.Coz php is server side and files reside in server.Though if it is a HTML you can rip and upload on ur server.Hope this helps

well most of it is html but when I load it on the server it does not look like the website it just shows text and the layout is messed up

I agree with eterno, you're probably missing all the server side code. There aren't many sites that are plain html these days.

Do like everybody else: hire a coder.
Or you may check online for the clone itself. Usually, when a site goes live, there are dozens of clones within a couple of days...

The importance is why you want to clone the website.If you just want to start some severs , that's never mind ,you can find some one help you easy .

I reccomend trying to rip it again with HTTRACK
it works well.
