My SEO strategy...I've sunk virtually out of the rankings.

I am BRAND NEW to internet marketing so I hope I can effectively communicate what I'm TRYING to do. Hopefully by outlining my strategy I can see where I went wrong, and figure out from the experts WHY I am tanking.

I built a BLOGGER site around a keyword that is low in competition. I ranked on page one for it, regularly bouncing back from #4 to #5 in 3 months(I have slipped to #13). My articles use to rank on the front page for three months(articles have slipped to page 9 and 10). All I did for these results at the beginning was create forum posts to my articles(roughly only TEN!) and social bookmark with facebook and twitter(replying to twitter users by relevant keywords from each article).

My plan was to work a method for awhile until I mastered it and then move on to the next method before I went after automated tools like xrumer, market sam, demon, etc. Mainly just to get a WELL-ROUNDED understanding of how each method in BlackHat/WhiteHat functions.(This time around I was trying to understand the art of submitting and pinging RSS feeds)

Then I implemented a system which I thought would help me but instead KILLED me.

So...Hopefully this will be clear...(ALL MANUAL)

I would do my usual...create forum posts with links to my article, then bookmark the article on twitter and facebook.

But then I started using other social booking marking sites just recently(Digg, reddit, blah blah, over 50) and I would create an RSS feed with those links...THEN I would take the forum posts and create an RSS feed. But I would create multiple feeds with the same posts(bad?) on different feed generation sites. I'd go to yahoo pipes and create a feed with all my posts and social bookmarking sites and ping that feed. Then I would make a feed blkping RSS generator, create a feed with feedity...And ping that(like 5 other free RSS generators). I didn't create rss feeds directly from the money site(only feedburner), but this method killed it. I'd use ping goat, bulkping, and pingomatic to ping the rss feeds(probably 5 more free pinging services) I created from forum posts and social bookmarking sites and submit those feeds to RSS directories. Too much pinging? This sucks. Help.

Once again. I know I am a noob, so do your worst lol.

How long has this been going on? All the keywords you were targeting are on page 9 and 10? It could be just google dancing because of the new backlink techniques. Whatever you do, don't stop building backlinks and adding content. Just keep working on it otherwise it will be extremely hard to recover if you stop now.

Wow, you have been a busy little bee! Based on what you have provided, here is where you went wrong. You said "I built a BLOGGER site around a keyword that is low in competition." Doomed from the start.

Get your own hosting. Install WP and start over. Based on the info you provided, had you started like that, employed basic SEO you'd be doin well. Don't give up my friend! You are close. Make some adjustments, you'll do fine!

Blogger is Google's red headed step child. They were good at one time and then got abused to the point where Google doesn't really care about it anymore. They just don't do as well as they used to. I get much better results on wordpress.com when I use a free blog. Best bet like mentioned above is get your own domain and install wordpress.

You can import your Blogger content into WP too. So all is not lost as far as your content goes.

I do just fine with blogger blogs. You have to keep putting out fresh content. 10 posts will not work for very long. Keep backlinking and producing unique content.

G does care about blogger. You can test by registering a domain name and then launching a free blog with blogger and put up a website with a similar domain name(paid hosting) and install wordpress on it- THE BLOGGER ONE WILL GET INDEXED FIRST AND RANK BETTER! I've done this test three times.

You just faded in the rankings because you have low competition keywords and failed to continue making content. Keep it up and you WILL climb the rankings again.

You guys were right! I actually went ahead and DOUBLED my workload(backlinking) and I ranked at the number 4 spot for a MAJOR keyword, the number 1 spot for another smaller keyword, and number 6 for another. I'm right back up there! I've been cranking and ranking articles like a mad man lol. Thanks again.

You basically only need to submit your site's RSS feed once, not for every post you make. They'll probably either reject your submission or it won't do you any good.
