Given that Google keeps changing its algorithms, and I'm sure there are people out there who use Yahoo and Bing, does anyone focus their efforts on these other 2 search engines, and see good traffic from there?

I always get good rankings on Yahoo but hardly see any decent traffic from them.

I wish one day Yahoo over takes Google, then maybe I'll become a millionaire :biggthump

I hope your wish comes true too :)

Anyone else care to respond?

I don't like the lack of importance Yahoo and Bing place on link anchor text in determining rankings for keywords (i.e they ignore it).

I wish we could go back about 8 years when Google didnt. Shit, ranking websites and getting traffic was easy then.

On what do they place their importance on then? Total number of backlinks?

Traffic levels just aren't the same. Bing would be better than Yahoo. I have received some decent levels of traffic before from Yahoo, but I don't build for it because average keywords on Google bring more than the great ones on Yahoo. Success with Google also usually translates to some okay results in the other search engines as well.

The fundamentals are the same for all engines. Get those right, and you're good to go on them all.

Bing looks like it is growing its Search Engine share quickly although it doesn't seem to be reflected in my traffic - I read somewhere that Bing prefers contextual links within the content rather than footer links etc ...
