So in my inbox today is the Google adsense newsletter and in it is a small blurb about Google +1.

Here is a link to the sign up and video: https://services.google.com/fb/forms/plusonesignup/

Essentially it is a Facebook "Like" button that will directly effect Google search results.

I know Google is running scared in a "social" world and is looking for ways to leverage what it has to spring to the front, but this just seems dumb. As a black hatter, my mind instantly went to how can you go crazy with this +1 button. You will be able to embed it on your website and it will show up next to ads in Search. Plus there is some way to share that +1 with your friends, but it is not clear how.

I think the easiest thing to so is just go over to a micro task website (I think some of them are banned, so I will not attempt to write any names or referrals until I can confirm otherwise) and pay for people to search your site in Google (especially for a term you want to rank higher for) and then have them click the +1 button.

Once this thing is fully launched, I'll throw up a test web site and run an open experiment. Similar to what I am doing here: http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/black-hat-seo-tools/302679-massive-direct-scrapebox-blast-brand-new-website.html

What do you all think? Please chime in! :-)

Well hopefully people will offer 1000+ google likes for $5 then our rankings will be completely automated!

Another thing to think about is negative impact on your website for buying likes on your website. I'm sure google will have some system in place to watch for unusual activity.

I predict it will be abandoned just like every other attempt to have users rank search results that Google has tried. The vast majority will be manipulation with very few real people participating regularly.

I doubt it will have much if any bearing on your SERP position.

and I'm sure you're a little paranoid ;)

If Google is smart, they will leave it as just a way to recommend pages to friends have have no baring on actual listings, but the video actually said it could effect your rankings, which I think is crazy.

There definitely will be some sort of a filter, because manipulating rankings would be so damn easy if they give '+1's a ton of weight.

I'm sure Google will have some sort of way to watch for manipulation, like if a site is getting a million likes an hour (way out there example, I know) but if you were to drip feed in likes, you could conceivably fly under the radar and gain some benefit. Would be worth testing on a throw away site in my opinion.

I also noticed this, however, when I logged out of my Google account the +1 option disappeared.

Does this happen to you guys too?

This is probably their plan to monitor, as much as possible, the suspicious activity with this.....

The businesses selling mass gmail accounts are probably jumping with joy:banana:

Good observation hellohellosharp. I think you have to be logged in, otherwise you would have a ton of '+1's with no referrer. Kind of like when you do a facebook like, you still have to login if you are not already.

Someone is definitely going to make a killing selling gmail accounts! :-)

Exactly. It's a stupid idea. It's just too easy to manipulate.

Just what I want to do, embed something owned by Google on my webpages...

Someone just make a script when some likes via fb butto they auto google +1

I want to make a case study on this for my first fail at a website. It's ranking number 1 in google, getting traffic, but isn't able to monetize for shit. I think the +1 system may affect SERPs, but in a minimal way, like the loading time of a web page. Maybe I can use this case study and sell it on DP and WF. Would give it to BHW of course, what do you all think?

I don't really know what Google is doing these days. They used to be innovative in all the right places and now they're the duck drowning in the shallow end. A system like this seems far too easily manipulated. I vote that this experiment will fail before some of us ever sees a "+1" in our search.

Just like links these will be bought, another shit idea, trying to be 'social' I dont what my search results 'social' most people surfing are fucking idiots!... and I should follow them?

I knew G. would try this, been telling my mates for years to watch out for 'like' in the serps.
