I saw someone using merchantcircle at the top but then they went down again?! It looks like they're no longer in Google, LOL. But a question to whoever did it did you do a blog posting or did you have to pay? And do I need to do anything after I make the post on there to get indexed? How did you do it.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this supposed to be on your own/ newly-registered domain? Using it on corp high-PR sites such as YouTube, backpage.com, hubpages or established sites prior to this would ruin the whole idea of this competition. I mean, it should be legal for backlinks, but a person shouldn't be able to win this way. This is a SEO competition. Just asking since it's not clear to me

It's a blackhat competition if your not first your last deal with it.

I don't recall reading it was a strictly SEO competition. We black hat therefore we get our shits by any means necessary. Early bird gets the wormies!

Can be anything even a blog as long as it contains the words stated "blackhatworld rocks" and a link to www.blackhatworld.com and www.blackhatzen.com

After that there is no rules.

some gay asses have stolen my first page position

now im bumped all the way to the second page

even a free .co.cc domain is on the front page OMG if only i had throught of that.... (wonders how well a crappy .tk domain would rank or even a .ej.am domain :P) this is annoying me now :P i thought i had a chance at winning.....

maybe tommorow once my other sites i made get picked up then it will all be good and i will steal poll position from all of you and prove im no noob :P even 2nd place would be cool but im going for gold (wish i had seen the post before someone had brought that ruddy domain i would have deff won with no doubt about it)....

tommorow be prepared.. (and i know im probably dumb for bumping this up as its really hard to find otherwise i dont have a clue were to loook

p.s. be cool if more prizes were added for 2nd and 3rd place too :P give us runners up something good for our efforts loool

I see justAIMe is the one who beat me to the blackhatworldrocks url on Myspace. I tried for about 2 hours to register a new account and kept getting the "Unexpected Error" message.

Could I suggest at the end of the competition, that the top five (or maybe all if all are willing), for the sake of educating and learning purposes, share their methods on how they did it? This IMO will be totally beneficial to everyone here. It could even be a sticky like "Ranking at the Top - Methods".

Of course, it should be done. For me this is not only the competition, on the basis of result i can write a complete ebook on 'how to bring your site at #1 position in 24 hrs' for any keyword....

We will get lot of stuff to learn from this..

i honestly doubt there are many hidden faces.... with that domain you have made a massive killer and i suppose all the other domain extentions are registered now for it.....

im waiting till i get some lil program before i continue my quest to getting a higher rank.... but i never knew that hubpages ranked higher than squidoo.... i really thought it was the other way round.... oh welll maybe its my write up :P as it is very short

the TLD will probably win it, all thats needed is some high pr links pointed with the corrected anchor, if there are any real blackhats they would have to *cough* it, to throw off its relevancy and maybe sandbox it but is it worth the bandwidth.

so the playing field is not really that even now the TLD is gone, simply the only other option is to link juice social sites and point to a hub with high PR, thats the TLDs main weakness PR. so you need to point anchors to a high PR hub

i dont know if this post is ok, if not just delete it.

oh you could register a heap of relivant TLDs and chain them, that might outrank the main TLD, but my advice to anyone wanting to roll the TLD is HUBS. because they could get some quick authority. Maybe throw some fake hits at it too, just to make sure. The last option to get close is to just rank a existing domain with huge a PR.. oh and dont forget gov and edu links.

anyhow im now ranked 3rd....
there are 9 entrants all on the front page.... 2 of them being me :P and hopefully soon will be 3 of them.. but who knows will have to wait and see

I bet a bunch of people here will get bored and not participate if running to often. If not having the time now one can always jump on the next run in some 2 weeks, which will be another next time and another and so on which in the end will mean never for many of us lazy bastards...

Better in that case to make this to an annual or maybe make it to a twice per year thing. Maybe one summer and one winter competition could be something to go for?

Also cool could be to divide it into different classes. Choose one key phrase to rank for newbies and another for intermediate and a third for advance members. In that way everyone can participate on their level cause I bet there's some who just won't participate cause they already from the beginning know that someone with a blacker hat will outrank them already from start.
