How is google 'context relevance' calculated?

I haven't heard anything conclusive on this.

Someone over at WF said something about it being based just on the particular page relevancy (where your backlink is located) rather than the whole site but I'm not sure how accurate that is.

Anyone have any other insights?

No one really knows for sure. Probably the dominant movement in information processing would be the vector space model which is related to latent semantic indexing and analysis.

Basically a weighted matrix of keyword vectors is created from which we can measure the connective strength of one node to another. Yes, it is generally calculated on a page by page basis but obviously in a matrix situation, the other linked pages on a site are going to influence the vectors that surround one particular node.

If the WF you're talking about is Warriorforum, don't trust anything those clowns have to say about SEO!
