Am I Sandoxed or Penalized, and What is the Difference?

I was ranking #3 for a keyword with 1.6 million results, but last Thursday, it dropped to page 2, and then page 4. I thought it might have to do with the Algo change, but then today it has completely dropped from the rankings. However, it does still show up when I type the url in Google

The website is almost 2 years old. Been blasting lots of Scrapebox links, and also Xrumer links, and been sending those Xrumer links to Linklicious.me

I have read about both the Sandbox and the Google Penalty, but I am not clear on what the difference is

Anyone care to chime in on what happened?

Could just be a google dance or de-indexed your site.

if you put site:yourdomain.com how many results are there? If no results then de-indexed. If results maybe a google dance?

I put site:url page and it did show up

Well, I am back on page 4... BUT...

I noticed the Pagerank went from 0 to unranked
