Problem with backlinks

I have a squidoo lens that I am trying to seo as hard as possible. I've been doing this for about maybe a little over a week now going on 2 weeks, and i'm at the top of the 3rd page in GOOGLE for a keyword that gets searched a little over 45k times a month (according to google keyword tool). So I have been building backlinks from numerous sources, and I am using traffic travis and seoquake plugin for firefox to check for the backlinks. When I am checking to see if squidoo lens url is indexed in yahoo, it isn't. But the funny thing is when i'm checking traffic travis, i try to get back the backlinks indexed on google for that url, and it always turns up 0. I look for backlinks from google on seoquake, and it says i have 0.

Then on traffic travis, when i am checking backlinks for the yahoo SE, it's coming up with well over 500, and it's about the same exact number when i check seo quake. How am i getting backlinks indexed in yahoo but not google, and I have a 3rd page ranking for google when all the backlinks are coming from yahoo se? wtf?

Google simply does not show backlinks even if they are crawled. The only semi-reliable source (as you have already seen) is Yahoo site explorer.

No problem, used to confuse the hell out of me too Google will show a few here and there but I guess it's just another way of irritating SEOs

I believe that gooogle only shows your most relevant / strong back links when yahoo SE will show all of your back links including spam ones. I could be wrong though. Can someone give more insight about this?

Of course not EmpireQuality, if G show most relevant links there would be no SEO any more. I just get all the backlinks of 100 first position of my keywords and dominate.
Just take a look at backlinks to your site in G eyes, you will see.

Hold on, have either your search rankings or referrals changed?

If not then please don't worry - many people are reporting that their links are not showing in Webmaster Tools. It's just a data glitch (until we hear otherwise), so relax and wait.


GWT simply displays historic data - unless your rankings or traffic change why worry?

yea, that is true. i forgot about that.

everyone would be doing this method then, including me.
