Hi,

I am new here, hope not the only girl :) and would like to get an advice, how much would you pay for this website?

I can not add a link, so PLEASE go to Flippa and search for:
Ecommerce / Magento Online Shop - Dropship - ONLY ORGANIC TRAFFIC

I am really thinking to bid.

Good question?

maybe up to 20k

Well if it does really make $700/month, it is worth 6-12 times that. Which is $4,200-$8,400

But there is no proof shown by the seller so it's hard to say.

Wow... It is actually looking legit. Checked the rankings for "foot massager" and he is dominating, and I am sure the same is true for many other keywords. Looks like a good long term investment, but I wouldn't invest 20k. For 20k, I would rather build my own site from scratch just to know everything is 100% legitimate.

Have you ever bought an expensive site like this before? For a few hundred dollars you can probably hire a well known user here who will probably show up very soon, and he will do some deep research for you before you make any bids.

I get regular email tip-offs about these threads if you're referring to me :P

Joking apart, I've never charged a BHW member for help (unless I've brokered a site for them), I guess I'm too nice :o I would be rich if I charged $100 a PM!

At first glance, I would want a lot more data. Text files from Dec and Jan orders really aren't worth anything.

I'd want a teamviewer session to go through all of the traffic and revenue stats and proof of costs with the supplier. I'd also spend hours doing due diligence and making sure the owner is legit.

If the profit really is $900/mo consistently, then I'd expect this to go for around $18-22k. E-commerce sites tend to sell for very nice multiples. Not saying I would pay that much, but that's what it will go for.

Hmm. I would just have thought people offered you a bit of money for your time. Maybe not hundreds, but a "courtesy" if you provide any valuable insight. Maybe you don't need the "charity" money? :P

Anyways, with my limited knowledge of website stats, my biggest concern here is the Alexa ranking doesn't appear to be in line with the traffic stats. The revenue wouldn't be my main concern, but rather the traffic. If the traffic is legit, there will be sales.

I get less traffic then this guy is claiming to get, yet my Alexa ranking is 500k less. I don't know a lot about why that could be, but a 1 million Alexa ranking seems like a very new site. I don't think the seller is claiming that this website has been making the money consistently, I think he is just quoting his best month.

"We put a lot of hard work in building this website over the past year."
"Web site has a high future potential."

So you are NOT paying for consistent revenue, you are paying for potential based on his keyword rankings/backlinks and design. And with that, the next biggest concern is for him to explain where his backlinks came from, and how he got his rankings. He may own some authority site or hacked site where he got some strong links from, but when you buy the site, those links dissapear, and so do the rankings.

Haha - people on forums rarely value time, they always just assume they can take the pi*s as they "need the money badly". Bit of extra "beer" money would never go amiss though :P

Wouldn't worry about Alexa, sounds about right. Bear in mind, Alexa rankings tend to be lower in tech type niches, and with crap like shopping sites you can have a really high Alexa and still have good traffic.

Revenue wise - you're right. Need to have a dig down through the revenue stats. Would only pay a good multiple based on the average, not the peak months.

I thought a website that makes $900 dollar per month would be only worth 9k to 11k ?

Isn't the worth of your domain 10 - 12 times your monthly profit?

I would say do your research before getting ahead of yourself and investing on the website.

Also, be sure to ask about how to maintain the sales or else it can go dry.

Depends on many, many variables. Anywhere from 1x - 40x lol.

Ecommerce sites tend to sell for good multiples, especially with consistent profits and if they have a bit of age.

It's nearly 4am here so there's no way I can write it all out now. It's complex.

Well, I would say one quick example of the differences in multiples is that if there is a chance that something will "go out of style" anytime soon, the multiple is very low. If a product is a long time tested and proven product, its multiple goes way up.

A site making $500/month from the "Zone Diet" book is probably worth less than a website making $250/month from General Diet books. The general diet book has more potential for expansion, and appeals to a wider crowd, and won't be going out of style anytime soon.

Just an example... probably not 100% correct but people should get the idea.

The reserve should be 29k

A friend of main checked the seo work of the site and he told me it should be OK.!?

He told me that this site should rank much better in the next weeks or months.

I am really thinking to buy it

What do you guys thing?

Please give me some advice.

Thanks

Why should the reserve be 29k? 29k is WAY too high. If it sells for 20k the seller would have done great.

I've already given my advice, you should read it. I'm talking from years of experience buying and selling sites.

The site looks pretty legitimate, although the lack of proof is a big red flag until you can get some. All in all, it looks pretty good.
