Google Analytics. Use it or no?

what do you think about using google analytics? people say that you should only use it on your whitehat sites but not your blackhat sites otherwise bad things will happen to your rankings

I'd say use it,
I don't think it'll make "bad things" happen to your rankings.
Then again if your site's really blackhat, as in it's illegal
then it would be best to keep it off of google's radar altogether
 
All my sites use analytics. All my sites are blackhat. All my sites are stable in #1.

Don't listen to all the paranoia that runs through these forums. Adsense accounts don't have a cap, analytics won't f**k you over, etc etc
 
I've never had issues...

I also use statcounter sometimes as an alternative as well.
 
LOL! bad things like what ?

i use GA to track adwords and never had any of my accounts banned.
You can use chartbeat it you want realtime analytics

whitehat site = yes
blackhat site = no way
 
No real data to back this up but I removed GA from one of my money sites and it is doing better with some keywords. Happens to be that I also had it synced with my Adwords account. Not sure if their "algorithm" uses stuff like that to rank you. ;)
 
Some on GA some on statcounter some nothing. don't like to put all the eggs together.

Err just cause it hasnt happend to you. There is a thread about this exact subject. Its recommended that you keep everything google of your sites including webmaster tools, everything.

... and ever since i did that iv had no futher issues. Not one. Before that they were spying, delisting and deindexing my sites. Not anymore, the new ones are in position #1 without a hiccup.
 
Google analytics is a must! It is so much better than any of the other analytics packages. It's one of the first things I set up on a new site.
 
I don't believe your site can be in trouble by using google analytics. I've never found anyone that could back this claim up.
 
I wouldn't risk adding analytics to a site with a high bounce rate, for instance.

Piwik is fine, but it does not have as many features as GA. If it did I would switch.
 
I do not think using a Google Analytics code on your BH'd site will raise alarm to every Google products and SE. So, I'd say, use it. It will benefit you a lot.
