In this thread, I'm gonna show you how to find the exact keywords or phrases visitors type ingoogle to find blog/sites in your niche. This method is very ACCURATE and I bet no SEO tools including Google keyword tool would find these keywords in your niche!

I guess you guys are aware of a plug-in called "SEO SearchTerms Tagging 2". It's a plug-in used in many wordpress blogs to strengthen On Page SEO. The below given is the description from the download page:

The purpose of this plugin is to strengthen our On Page SEO by adding new internal linking to the blog post using the most popular keywords used by search engine visitors to find the blog post from a search engine ( incoming search terms ).

You can display the most popular, random & recent search terms in the sidebar to get a side wide internal linking to the corresponding blog post.

For keyword research and trend, you can use the plugin statistic to find out which keywords are popular or in trend, then you could write a new blog post targeting those keywords to increase your blog traffic.

The below given are some of the GOOD features of this plug-in which we are gonna "EXPLOIT"

• Display the search terms/keywords used by visitors from search engines for each blog post.
• Display the most popular search term for the entire blog posts.
• Display the most recent search terms for the entire blog posts.

Unfortunately, this plug-in not only helps the blog owners but, EVERYONE! because it shows the search terms/keywords used by visitors from search engines for each blog post. Also you can display the popular search terms and recent search term in the side bar.


As a blackhatters, we should make use of this. I will show you how we can utilize this keywords. Let's say I have a poker related blog. Here my niche is "Poker" so I want to know the EXACT keywords or phrases search engine visitors use to find "poker related blog/site"


By default, this plugin list the search terms/keywords used by visitors from search engines for each blog post with title "Incoming Search Terms" or "Incoming search terms for the article" so we are gonna HARVEST pages from blogs where this pugin is installed and it should be Poker related. Here is the footprint for the same:

I'm gonna search in Google using the above footprints. This is what I get:

I get around 812K pages which is poker related and these pages are "highly targeted". Harvest all these pages using scrapebox. Each and every pages in these results show the EXACT keywords/phrases visitors typed to reach that page. Copy all those keywords and build your own list.


What you can do with this list?

Write blog posts - Mostly these keywords are long tails, so you can target some good long tail keywords and write a separate blog post for the same with the EXACT keyword as title. Next time when a visitor type that exact keyword your post may come in first page result or even in #1 spot.


Sprinkle those keywords - Not all visitors search for a topic using the same keyword. They show all their skills and come up with few good variations of that keyword. You can add those keywords in your blog posts which can given you better onpage optimization.

Build a website - If you come across any long tail keywords with high search volume. Just buy a domain with exact keyword in it and build a site. Monetize it as per your wish!

PPC Campaign - You can use these list for you PPC campaign. These keywords won't have much competition because nobody knows about these keywords! except you and me he he he

Wow! that's pretty fast! he he You can safely use that plugin because it really helps for your on-site SEO. Just change the default phrase "Incoming Search terms" which we use to harvest to some other thing like "Google visitors" or whatever . This way you can hide your blog from harvesters and still benefit from that plug-in.

I have been doing this for time and it works (you seem to be sharing all the nuggets at the moment!) very well. Another aspect to this while we are giving it all away over xmas(!) is that many of these 'recent search terms' also contain some rather juicy 'footprints' which can yield some great nuggets for SB users.

Just start doing some searches adapting the OP's original footprints and you will start to see other searches contained within the pages - copy and repeat for many more SB footprints you probably haven't thought about.....

There is no way for saturation in this method so no problem in sharing Also I have learned many useful stuffs here. It's time for me to give it back to community!

As you said, you can tweak this method in many ways and I understand what you are talking about, but let's not spoonfeed Let them read this and add their own tweaks!

Update-1: SEO SearchTerms Tagging 2 Plugin Version 1.5 got released today(received a mail about that). Seems like author have added few good features. I'm just trying to figure out how we can exploit those features. I will update if I get any positive result.

Update-2: I saw the plugin download status. Last week alone it was downloaded 2,192 times! so it is not possible for us to do harvesting again and again to find the new pages. Lets automate that part

Google Alerts: Yes! We are going to use the same method which we use to get alerts for backlinks(Don't know how many of you are using Google alerts for backlink purpose). Configure an alert with the below settings:

Search terms: "incoming search terms"

Type: Blogs

How Often: as-it-happens

Volume: Only the best results

Deliver to: Email

Note: If you want to get alerts for pages related to your niche, the search terms should be: ""incoming search terms" "your keyword". In this way create alerts for all your keywords.

Sorry noob here but how can I get the google alerts feed into my blog. I currently receive them via email but i read somewhere that you can get the feed automated straight into a post. Thx in advance for any assistance.

you can extract anchor/keywords using SB ? i dont know that .. what addon do you used ?

there are more tricks that can be done with your stt2 plugin.. configure the target to your search page and 'auto-generate' content from that keyword. use bing/yahoo/google search result.. bamm..

Are you using blogger or wordpress? You can use feed instead of mail. Change the "deliver to" option. Also you can view your results in Google reader. Open the Google reader and add the feed URL by selecting the option "Add a subscription"

It is not possible to extract the keywords from a page using SB. It's a manual task, you have to copy the keywords which comes under "Incoming search terms".

Won't a lot of them have a good amount of competition already? And how is this different from the Google Keyword Tool? It just sounds like relevant keywords.

G**gle keyword tool is not accurate when it comes to long tail keywords. Also this plugin shows you keywords used by visitors from other search engines like Yahoo and Bing(We don't get those keywords from G00gle keyword tool.

if u visit the blogs that u harvest...stt2 will tell it that the incoming search term is: incoming search term "keyword"...lol
also u can use the term "random search terms"...sometimes that is used in blogs too

I can tell you from experience that this works like a charm and to set it all up is extremely simple with a custom script. You can also use the keywords coming in on one blogs and create pages on another if you want to keep the two separate (just in case one of your blogs is whiteish). This method can easily be ported over to a forum, regular website, etc. With each incoming term you crank out a new page or post and over time your traffic overall will skyrocket for terms you wouldn't have found otherwise.

The script itself is tailor made for my site but I can give you a general idea on how it works.

• Mysql database - keyword column (set to unique)
• Keyword script that gathers from 3-4 sources and dumps to DB. Having a unique column ensures duplicate pages aren't created.
• Temp Related Script grabs 30-40 links from the db and dumps to a text file every 12 hours.
• Link script pulls from the text file and displays a related list on all pages.

If this were for wordpress I would look into the code being used to auto create your posts to find where the tags are being inserted. Replace that section with a call to your keyword DB that randomly pulls however many tags you want from the db and marks that row/keyword as posted (add another column to the db, status or posted).

For a forum develop the following poster bots for whatever forum software you feel comfortable with:

1) Thread bot - Have the bot create a new thread with a randomly selected keyword and adds other randomly related info from various sources to the post (youtube videos, images, articles, whatever). Would also suggest having an additional column within the DB that can mark the keyword as used so your not repeating any threads).

2) Post Bot - that creates posts on the thread with the oldest post or with no posts at all. This way you ensure the oldest threads are always being kept alive and every thread will have posts within it.

3) User Bot - creates users and builds their profiles so that each time the thread or post bots are ready to post they can randomly choose a different user each time.

If your not comfortable coding any of these solutions just search around the forum for a more experienced coder who wouldn't have a problem implementing this solution for you. Only been coding for a year (give or take)

Hope that helps.

EDIT: I would suggest going with the forum set up if possible. If a thread/post is created every minute (or second) there wouldn't be a flag raised because it's normal behaviour for a busy forum. With a blog or website you'll have to slow down the creation process a bit (keep testing what google will accept). Once your all set up you could add this script to all of your websites to also dump to your forum database so your forum contains all of your keywords which can easily post on topic as well.

Ex:

All Info Forum
Cat1 (Casino) <- Casino keywords
Cat2 (Shoes) <- Shoes Keywords
Cat3 (Movies) <- Movies Keywords

Also forgot to mention I use PHP for all of the scripts and schedule it with cron. Try adding a cron random script to randomize the thread and post times. All of the scripts aren't overly complicated so I wouldn't expect to pay a huge amount for any of them.

Im using this trick in my blog.
Sometimes I found a blog that display incoming search terms with number of searches that came to that blog.
My questions is what is the footprint to find the blog that have "incoming search terms" but also have the number of searches ?

ex :
Incoming search terms:

• long tail keyword 1 (15)
• long tail keyword 2 (13)
• long tail keyword 3 (12)
• long tail keyword 4 (10)
• etc
