Default Google at #24, #1 after 25 Social Bookmarks?

After submitting 25 social bookmarks, I went from #24 to #1. I know this is a temporary fix, but does it tell you anything. I hoping it means I'm close, in other words do I need for 50 additional permanent links or 3000 more links.

What do you think?

It all depends on which 25 bookmarking sites you used as well as whatever other unknown G00gle algo factors. The most meaningful thing I'd take from your experience is that yes, you are close... but how close is an unknown.

The second most meaningful thing would be that a strong Web 2.0 attack for your site might be just what it needs right now. Start building free pages at places like Squid00, W33bly and etc. with related terms to your primary keyword, and link back to your main site with your target keyword in the anchor text from each of them. Then go about social bookmarking those pages you create too.

If you have R$$ $ubmit grab the rss feed URL's from your site and all the social bookmarking site accounts you have as well as the Web 2.0 sites you create pages on and run those feeds through it. Takes minutes and gets tons of rich backlinks for you.

Anytime I have a page break the top 100 in G00gle this is the basic approach I take with it and usually end up on the first page of results after the dust clears.

scb, would you please explain what you just said in more detail? Also, is that program the only program you would recommend to do this? Thanks will be given?

Thanks.

Instantk, sure, if you have a blog you have an rss feed. If you build a Squid00 lens you will have an rss feed for the lens. If you submit an article to eZin34rticl3s or C0ntentCab00dle you'll have an author's rss feed from those site. When you create an account at D3lici0us or most other bookmarking sites you get an rss feed for your account on those too.

All of these rss feeds at all of these sites will have your submissions/bookmarks with backlinks (and raw rss is never nofollow) and the titles that you create and control will be the anchor text for those links.

Submitting all of these feeds to dozens of rss directories is like creating an instant funnel of backlinks that ultimately points to or ends at your main site.

To illustrate, lets just say you have a blog site and create a single Squid00 lens. Then take the rss feed URL's from each and submit them using R$$ $ubmit to over 40 directories.

That gives you an instant 40+ links to your blog from the blog feed you submitted, and 40+ links to the Squid00 lens (which should link back to your blog) from that feed.

That's 80+ instant links out there which all eventually lead back to your blog and use anchor text that you had the control over in creating. Now multiply that by however many social bookmarking accounts you have, however many article directories you publish on, however many other Web 2.0 sites like Squid00 you publish pages on and you should see how fast a link funnel can be made.

Sure, some rss directories will add nofollow to links before publishing on their sites, and some will reject some of the feeds you submit... but since it only takes a few minutes to run a batch of feeds through R$$ $ubmit that's no big deal at all to me.

As for the program itself, I've used a bunch of different rss submission tools but for what I want to accomplish, which I've described above, R$$ $ubmit is the best and fastest around right now in my opinion.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the quick reply. The information was fantastic.

One question. What is considered too much in the eyes of Google? Submission numbers, patterns, etc.

Thanks again.

Oops, I did something wrong....

Went from #24, to #1, to #54 in a couple of days

Not sure if it was the 25 social bookmarks, posting of "off topic" articles, or emulating searches to get website name into the g search assist.

All done at the same time, due to urgency....too much, too quickly.

I know it will come back to #24, might take some time though.

Has something like this happened to you before?

@RalphyBoy, the SERPs are always bouncing up and down until G00gle decides where it believes you belong for sure, then movement up or down will be slow and tedious. I wouldn't worry too much about the dip, just keep getting backlinks to your site every day for a short while. If they build in a manner that appears natural and over a few days/weeks G00gle will credit them accordingly. That's my experience.

@Instantk, if you were asking me what I think is too much, I don't ever submit the same RSS feed more than once per month, period. Anything more than that might seem spammy to the directory owners and get your feed banned. Also, if you can mask your IP if submitting a lot of different feeds at once that would be good. R$$ $ubmit doesn't have a built-in mechanism for that, so it's tricky and you have to become creative.

As for what G00gle might see as too much too fast, they won't see all of these links instantly, so I've never worried about it and haven't suffered any notice-able problems. In fact, I've created a blog, built a Squid00 lens, submitted an article, then created a dozen new social bookmarking accounts for a project in a single day and submitted all of those feeds at once and it seemed to get picked up and indexed at the same rate and weight as project sites which were put together over a few days and more gradually.

My biggest thing is in watching that I never submit the same feed more than once in a month, and try to mask or change your IP if submitting multiple feeds at the same time--that's seemed to work out well for me.

An add-on to this
Just thought I'd share, we all know (or should) about blog commenting for backlinks. Well, I don't automate that because I like to shoot for quality over quantity with blog commenting. I'm all about quantity everywhere else though.

Anyway, if you comment on a blog, in seconds you can increase the value of your comment and backlink by submitting that blog's RSS feed with R$$ $ubmit. You've just added a bunch of good in-links to a blog that's linking to your site in a matter of seconds, think about it.

I also have special bookmarking accounts with several social sites that I use just for bookmarking any blog post I comment on too, and of-course I run the feeds of those accounts through R$$ $ubmit too.

Happy linkbuilding...
