I think they exploit people by asking them to click on their clients site and in return they send fake clicks to your site.

Traffic exchanges are crap from what I've experienced. The last one I tried gave me 4 visits according to my stats but their stats said I received 34.

If you use the top manual exchanges as rated by review sites like Hit Exchange News, the conversion rate is supposed to be about one signup/sale per 1000 clicks. The positive thing about them is the users are actually seeing your ad. The limitation is 'the clicking community' is limited to people looking for free traffic without paying for it, or using any SEO or linking strategies---i.e., internet biz newbies or folks with no sense of the $ value of their time.

They are folks looking for freebie ways to do things, so if you use a splash page for CPA offer, it might convert well. Or, if you do your own clicking to earn credits, the exchanges could be used to do a rough test of the converting rate of a landing page, in lieu of paying to test the conversions in a live PPC campaign.

Using the best manual exchanges with a good squeeze page can get you a nice amount of signups a day 6 - 10 ish. Depends. The more sites the better. Test test test.

Only worth promoting "make money at home" type squeeze pages though.

I made a small macro once for the manual exchanges.

After 30 seconds or so you had to click the colour button that it told you too (to prove your not a bot and you are real since you have to read it)

All i did was have a mouse constantly go to each button and click! haha

I have no idea how to "exploit" them, but I'm using TrafficSwarm at the moment, and the hits are real and 1 to 1 on the ratio, basically. I've tracked them through viralurl, and can see where exactly the hits are coming from, and it shows every click through from TrafficSwarm so I know they're legit.

That's the only one I've signed up with, as I found out, like the others have said, that you may get some traffic, but it's not buying traffic. I do have netaudioads on a couple of the sites, so I do get something (when the bloody ads are working!) for each "visit".

I can see where using a CPA (I've got to sign up for those!!) would have a better chance of bringing in some money. I tried it with a CJ program, but got paranoid about the lack of impressions compared to clicks and stopped that for now.
