Hey guys. Yesterday was a very good day for me because I finally rank #1 for the keyword I've been targeting for about six months. I won't lie, it was a hell lot of work sometimes putting in up to six hours of link building/content creation per day.

What I did was a combination of black hat/white hat stuff:

-The very first thing I did after I chose my money keyword and set up a product (I won't go into specifics here), was to hire someone to submit my site to directories. He spinned the title/description which I think helped.

-I made four sites related to my money website in a SEO hosting account (each site different IP) then I built links to those sites using web 2.0 and SB.

-I purchased a few expensive blog posts from high quality sites, sometimes costing up to $200.

-I wrote about 100 articles, spinned and submitted them using ArticleBot.

-I let SB run all day on pages linking to me, never to my site directly.

-I linked not only to my homepage, but also to my inner pages. I chose a ratio of 60/40 - 60% of links to homepage, 40% of links to inner pages.

-I hired someone to do PR submission and social bookmarking. This probably cost me around $100.

Within six months of following this method, I ranked #1 outranking wikipedia and another specialized subpage with 1000 natural high quality links. I probably spent around $2500, money that I acquired from former sites. Yes you can probably do it with much less, but it can take you five times longer.

Yesterday I made $700 and today I'm at $300 so far. The domain I use is four years old (was parked) and contains the main keyword in it, I'm pretty sure that helped. If I continue at this rate I'll be able to retire in a few years and go live to the beach

If I could go back six months, what I would do differently is to simply outsource most of the work I did. Although I like making my own websites, I could have outsourced most of the link building except a few things and probably save 2-3 hours per day. It might have cost $1-2k more, but I could have made another project in that time.

Hope this serves as inspiration to someone. The moral of the story is: Get to work and don't be afraid to spend money. If you know what you're doing you'll make it back in no time.

Very, very valuable advice. Just get started, and get to work. There is no easy button, and if you happen to find something that works that doesn't take work, that is a rare gem and usually doesn't last.

The spending money part is a personal struggle, since when I started back in 98 I didn't have the money and there really wasn't a lot to buy back then outside of domains and hosting. I built my stuff from the ground up on a shoestring budget, and having low overhead is what saved me during lean times.

These days it is foolish to not put some portion of the earnings back into the business. Old habits die hard, but they sometimes must.

Yes, majority of people want to earn money but how the hell they want to earn it without investing or doing anything? Action always resulted in $$ for me.

No, but seriously, well done man! You did the hard work, now you can reap the rewards. My first site at #1 was all done myself because I had no capital. Now all I do is write the sales copy and let the indians do the rest!

Congrats on the results! It's the best feeling to put in a lot of hard work in the beginning and to finally see the results after a long time.

Well done on your achievement, I'm doing something similar but more aggressively. I would to know you jumped straight from page 2 to first spot or you were in TOP 5 results and if yes, then what traffic were you getting when you were TOP 5 and what traffic are you getting now?

Don't share your exact search ! People have ways of find out what keyword it is based on that number alone.

By this you mean you are selling your own product not as an affiliate right?

How heavily did you spin and how much did you get indexed? Did you use nested spinning? What %?

This is basically creating a link wheel and commenting with the link wheel spokes URLs (i.e. parasite sites) ?


Other than that I completely understand everything else, this is a great ourline for anyone good at keyword research, since that is the most important thing from the whole process.

Well done son. Just a quick caveat though...Don't stop there and don't keep all your eggs in one basket. I have had from google and have had google taketh away and had from them again many times on many sites through the years.

The one thing that I have found consistent with google is that they are not consistent!

As far as i know, you could be ranking for a non competitive keyword.

While i agree that all of your methods are pretty good, especially by socializing all of your links, i would still like to know what your keyword and url is. Maybe you could PM it to me?
