backlinks dropped off

For some reason all my backlinks dropped?? i had like 2,000 backlinks and now I only have 10???

Even my yahoo answers backlinks are gone, but it still shows in Google but it doesnt show in a backlink check site like it use too

Had something similar on one of my domains ... well it went only down by a 1000

Most backlinks to that domain were build using directory submissions and PRStorm

So it is clear why PRStorm backlinks don't last but what I have to look into is why the directory links where pulled ...
