Default How do I hide affiliate link?

How do I hide my affiliate link totally? I will buy a .info domain, and I want the domain to show up and instead of my affiliate link on the owners landing page? I saw it done before

Its called masked forwarding, All that you need is a parked domain (No need for Hosting) then you can set this up easily in the settings of the domain name. You can set up a standard redirection or Mask the redirection.....

If you mask the redirection the following will occur..

www.xyz.com -> when redirected to hxxp://xxxxxxx.fuelwater1.hop.clickbank.net/ will still only apear as www.xyz.com in the browser window.

I hope that makes sense..... If you are talking about hiding your affiliate links on a review site you need to look up link "cloaking", Id go into further detail but im in a rush.... just search for this on BHW there is heaps of good threads..

Default Re: How do I hide affiliate link?

I think what he wants is to create a "frame page",

Eg.
hxxp://XXXXX.merchantid.hop.clickbank.net -->
hxxp://yourwebsite.c0m/product

instead of

hxxp://XXXXX.merchantid.hop.clickbank.net -->
hxxp://merchantsite.c0m/?id=clickbankid

Well, you can copy this script below, hope it helps...

PHP Code:

</script>
<html>
<head>
<script>window.status='ready';</script>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Language" content="en-us">
<title>--TITLE--</title>
<meta name="keywords" content>
<meta name="description" content>
</head>
<frameset border="0" frameborder="0" marginleft="0" margintop="0" marginright="0" marginbottom="0" rows="100%,*">
<frame src=<--youraffiliatelink-->" scrolling="auto" frameborder="no" border="0" noresize>
<frame topmargin="0" marginwidth="0" scrolling="no" marginheight="0" frameborder="no" border="0" noresize>
<noframes>
<body>
</body>
</noframes>
</frameset>
</html>
*Remember to change your affiliate link*

Step 1: Create a folder (product_name etc.) in your web's root directory
Step 2: Create a text file in that folder and name it "index.htm"
Step 3: Copy the code above, paste it into the file and save it
Step 4: You've cloak your affiliate link

Play around with your meta contents as well.

Good luck!
you're welcome =)

It doesn't matter, it's just text. Copy and paste it into notepad.

The code is there it is just written in black and the background is also black so it does not showup. People will scroll trying to find the code and not see it if they click select all it will highlight it.

You can try and put the code in code quotes it might show up better

Code:
</script>
<html>
<head>
<script>window.status='ready';</script>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Language" content="en-us">
<title>--TITLE--</title>
<meta name="keywords" content>
<meta name="description" content>
</head>
<frameset border="0" frameborder="0" marginleft="0" margintop="0" marginright="0" marginbottom="0" rows="100%,*">
<frame src=<--youraffiliatelink-->" scrolling="auto" frameborder="no" border="0" noresize>
<frame topmargin="0" marginwidth="0" scrolling="no" marginheight="0" frameborder="no" border="0" noresize>
<noframes>
<body>
</body>
</noframes>
</frameset>
</html>

Just a point to note for this method:

when visitors click on your link and land on the sales page of the merchant site, your affiliate link will be exposed if they click on "View/Page Source" or right click "View Page Source"

The only way to cover up is to change readable affiliate link in source page (eg. hxxp://XXXXX.merchantid.hop.clickbank.net) to unreadable html code (which is called numeric ampersand entities) to this (eg. &# 104; &# 116; &# 116; &# 112; &# 58; &# 47

- Remove the spaces in between

Hope that helps =)

yea that is sort of what i was talking about. Dead on. huumm so then to actually hide the affiliate link i would apply the same principles but use cloaking on the affiliate link right?
