I've heard a lot of good things about Gimp, and it's free. It's got a pretty big learning curve from what I've seen. If you just try to do one thing it might be easier to learn.

By saying "nice poppin pic ads ", do you mean like marketing/squeeze page photo stuff? If so, go to Google Images and search for various things relating to your topic. ie: "businessman jumping", "business people holding blank sign", etc.

I can find the pics but the editing to make an ad is what I was referring to....

comeon dear! dont tell me you dont know how to use Photoshop

I can use Publisher from MS office...never used Pshop.....Publisher is good but there are alot better looking ads on CL that I could never do with Publisher...

Macdromedia Firewords has an easier learning curve the photoshop, you could start with that one maybe then move your way to photoshop. You can search almost any torrent website for the newer versions of fireworks.

Publisher can layout the ad...but Photoshop does image manipulation, & layout. Besides does CL EVEN take Publisher? I know they'll do Photoshop formats.

save in jpeg format they do ;-)
