I hope this is the right section on BHW to post it if not I'm sorry - then please move it to the right section. I want to start an adult tube site - as there are many others... However I want to earn money with it. In my time scale I want it to be profitable after 6 month... What I'm exactly searching for is any kind of idea how to push the site forward. Service offers from BHW members with reputation are very appreciated too.

first off, what's your budget for the project?

second, what are you trying to accomplish with this site? what are your goals? how do you plan to achieve them at this time?

my marketing budget for the project is initially 1500 $ and monthly 600 $ for the first six month.

the site's goal is to make money with ppa - short - after 6 month time scale (four digit amount monthly)

increase site traffic and adds income 20 % of revenue go into marketing - middle - 7 - 24 month

selling the site at a good price as a long term goal

You want a legal one, where you have license on all the content, or a illegal one where you scrape the content from where you can?

what would you recommend?

how is it illegal? to scrape sites like you porn porn hub and such? dont they scrape?

I'd suggest you monetize with affiliates with pay per sign up, pay per minute type deals.

Do you want to host the video files and pay for bandwidth, or hotlink and leech bandwidth? Depending on how you want to do it there's a variety of different tube scripts that cost anywhere from $100-1500 you could use for an adult tube. Design-wise I've seen a sliding scale from $40 on non-exclusive themes to $300-600 for good exclusive tube themes.

For about $600 you can get setup with TEVS and a decent custom skin for it. The import a whack of sponsor vids from feeds, and push PPS leads on thosee. You can feed your site with skim traffic at a relatively low price, or opt for clicked traffic.

Could you have it profitable at six months with that investment? I don't see why not. But you'd better have some good converting sponsors. I recommend looking at $1 trials on HD video passes. Silvercash, Python, HiDefRiches have all converted well for me, and at a rate that I think would make you profitable at that point. Really depends on execution.

I don't know anything about running illegal scraped tubes, so I can't advise on that.

Legal website - especially if you want to sell it later to a big company-

1- content is coming from porn producers

a) they give you shit videos 1-3 minutes long, in exchange for promoting and referring users to their website, you make commission per sale

b) they give you good content, length videos, but you have to pay them, make a deal

2- content is coming from users

You need to ask users to provide you with documentations showing they are over 18 years old, and they produced the content, and happy to give it to you for free so that you can share it on the web - usually you have to pay them, cause nobody gives it to you for free.

That is the legal way. Anything else - we go the blackhat route. I am not the ethics here guy, do not get me wrong, i am just informing you how business work.

Now, let's talk about ilegal sites

-you can get the content wherever you want from, you claim that users uploaded it but whenever someone sends you a cease and desist later you need to take the content down

-very hard to monetize because adult companies do not sponsor video tube sites that infringe copyright - because it bites them in the ass, sponsoring tube sites that offer free content. Also , users are accustomed to free porn, they won't pay you for premium membership, cause they already get porn for free.

-no chance of selling it to a big company, if you can't back up where all that content is coming from - possible lawsuits, people do not want to get their hands dirty.
That's why free adult tube sites are monetized crappy with the most shitty sponsors that monetize warez, and all kind of shady stuff.

Pick whatever you want.

he's talking the redtube's and empflix's, places you can stream entire dvd rips and full members area videos. copyrighted material being distributed without license.

if you run one of these sites you will likely foot the bill for a large bandwidth charge as you won't be hotlinking anything. you'll have to deal with a lot of issues that come along with it. dealing with dmca requests to remove content, and lack of promotional outlets. you'll be pretty much restricted to dating, webcams, and dick pills.

not many programs are gonna want you promoting them next to full length dvd rips are they? and besides, how many paysite signups are you gonna get when you're serving up full video? in adult, less is more i say.

most of the big illegal tubes monetize their traffic selling out prepaid spots to dating and webcam networks. nothing but media buys. obviously this hasd worked tremendously for some people. if you feel thats the route to go and that you can deal with the hangups, go for it. you can hide behind the dmca and get away with a fair bit providing you eventually remove videos as they are reported.

keeping it legal and within sponsors limits allows you some freedom to work without obstruction, keep your bandwidth costs lower, and convert sales better (in my opinion) . the downfall to this is you might not get quite as many return visitors. the people are obviously stoked on full dvd rips and whatnot for free, and this is what many are looking for.

edit: i just saw nicks post and was also reminded of the legal option to license full length vid to legally stream. this can be done and there are many video packages being made available by products now anywhere between $500-$10,000 on most adult webmaster forums. Probably out of the $1500 budget.

as for the goals of my future site I would chose the legal one and let the movies beeing uploaded by users but with a blackhat marketing strategy

you are responsible for removing the videos if the copyright holder contacts you requesting removal. you are protect by the digital millennium copyright act (dmca) against any liability, so long as you remove as per their requests.

this "user uploaded" loophole is what all big illegal tube sites (youtube included) hide behind at the moment.

i am planning to make an adult tube site too i am still busy planning it finding the right host etc... i dont think that you can earn too much $$$$ in a 6 month period unless you are willing to pay lots of cash for promoting it, regarding a script there is a free tube script that you can dwnload its posted here on BHW too and cirtexhosting provides you with a couple of free tube scrirpts when you sign up with them for a hosting plan, but i have heard that their sites uptime is bad like sometimes your sites get down for a long time which is bad for business of course, for making money with my tube site i am mainly considering to just put banners and cost per click advertising on my tube sites.

how much would you suggest?

not sure how much i have never paid for promoting i usually use blackhat methods but there are big popular adult sites who sell/trade banners links you can try those and have a banner with your list there to get some targeted traffic

most pay %&^*& but if you get enough traffic you will still earn decent i guess some are blacklabelads and adult adwords offers both cost per impression and cost per click.

BlackLabelAds pay garbage. Expect maybe a penny or two for most of your clicks. Best bet is setting up with JuicyAds and selling ad spots through them. The network clicks pay as well as or better than BLA most of the time, and the real money comes around when you sell timeshares on the spots to other webmasters. Do what you can to keep your US views up and your adspots will bring in a good chunk of change from other buying webmasters. Better than you'd pull getting paid per click I believe. Ero-Advertising is another option along these lines, I just prefer JuicyAds.

If I recall correctly, Choopa hosted Redtube for ages. Probably still do.
