Drama and controversy are very good methods to draw traffic. Everyone loves to see the shit and give their 2 cents. But how would you monetize it? Religion and Politics are 2 topics that have a lot of drama and controversy.

great idea with the forum post+sig link i have tried this before on one of my micro niche car sites doing almost the exact same thing the only gripe i have with this method is for me it was only short term still made me 15 bucks though

back in the late 90s when I was running my own personal blog (before blog was even a word, some of you might rmemeber the e/n scene) I gained HUGE traffic bursts by calling out other webmasters, and shitting all over their sites causing little wars. It was funny how all you had to do was irritate the fuck out of one other blogger, and every day they'd link to your site blabbering about what a prick you were. Built a big following that way.

Using drama and controversy to drive sales are not the "most best" BHW method ever even though they are good techniques. But these 2 are just basics than any good marketer should know how to use.

Just look at all the sales letters for IM products...tons of controversy and drama inside those. That's why they sell so many copies.

Appreciate you bringing up these 2 topics as they are important, but not the best or anything new. But a good eye opener for noobs and others not using this technique.

Umm!! that is pretty much the basis of getting popular! I have used it many times and it works. I did it in High School to get popular. sometimes you have to ask the other person to collaborate with you, like a set up
