    Default Gaypal question

What happens if you don't close a dispute cause someone is trying to
    rip you off?

What I want to do is just ignore this asshole cause he bought from me,
and within 25 minutes filed a dispute. Claiming my contents were not
as described. (A ebook from dp) Like REALLY? He couldn't even read the
report in that period of time!

So since I think he is scamming me, I am just planning on ignoring him.
If I am right, he will not escalate the claim cause he is rippling me off.

What will happen if he does not escalate the claim?

What would happen if he does escalate the claim?

    Just wondering.
Also wondering if I can explain to paypal my situation.

    Thanks.

Paypal will decide in their favour and refund. You can tell them it was a digital product but I have a feeling that paypal may have revised their policy regarding digital products. Not sure. But if you ignore the complaint you'll lose.

Reply and state you sold a digital product. There's nothing you can do really. Calling them probably won't help at all.

Why reply to the guy? There is a complaint filed, you reply to that and escalate it to a claim if it hasn't already been escalated to a claim.

In my experience, if you did the sale outside of ebay, you may have a chance. When I sell goods (not digital products) and the buyer opens up a dispute about item not as described, I escalate it and it's decided in my favor. This is the email I recieve:

We have received a complaint from a buyer who stated that merchandise you sent them did not match your original description. The buyer is disputing the quality of goods associated with the transaction detailed below.
As you may already be aware, PayPal's Buyer Complaint Policy applies only to the shipment of goods and not to complaints about the attributes or quality of goods received through an off eBay transaction. Therefore, we will not conduct an investigation into this matter at this time.

I'm not sure if this applies to digital products, but I don't understand why it wouldn't. I guess the best way to cover is to actually send a physical copy to the buyer. I believe this was mentioned in a different thread on ebooks by blackmagiquellc, but I'm not too sure.

Make sure that you respond to the dispute though. That is important to do and explain the exact situation.

You'll win but you have to respond.

yeah they really have no way of telling who's at fault unless they have evidence of what you posted. if it were sold on ebay, they'd automatically just have the buyer send it back if it was a physical product, and once it arrives they will refund the buyer their money. it's such a bad system because you also have to refund the buyers shipping.

This is why I have not dealt with ebay

Whats funny is I was hosting my product on click2sell, and I have to pay those guys a
commission for each sale. Which is alright cause they only charge when you make a sale.

But either or I am quite happy altogether because I won!
That puts me officially past $500 for the year.

    Oh yea!

Be nice to everyone, especially paypal, submit what you advertised as it being, and what you delivered. As long as you can prove that you sent something, he receieved it, and what you sent matched your advertising, you should be ok. Point out all the details of how it matches your advertising, don't assume they will figure it out themselves.

You want to escalate it to a claim (or whatever it is called). If you don't you will wait and wait and wait until the time is up and it will automatically get escalated.

    Hehe congrats on that dispute
Even I lost some disputes of 'unauthorized use of CC' for 5 PSPs I sent to UK in which I was gonna make 200 quid on...Instead I lost 600. Oh well lol. and I sent it with speedpost + tracking, yet I still lost because it was 'fraudulent' ....And I still haven't seen the sight of my PSPs returned ;/

Make sure you always specify a clear disclaimer on refunds in your sales thread. I had a couple of people who thought they could just take a free peek at my ebook and then ask for a refund. I showed Paypal my thread specifying my refund policy and also showed a downloads log for the book and Paypal backed me and unfroze the money in less than a day.

Not necessarily true. I have disclaimers on many off my auctions for ebay saying some items are as-is, non refundable with no returns and shipping is also non refundable. Paypal slmost always sides with the buyer and has them send the item back and refunds their shipping as well. This seriously hurts with international shipments as the shipping is sometimes more than the item.
