I read that you get a domain name then point the name servers to a big site like Adult Fr Finder then you send traffic or something an rake in big bucks.

I think your missing a few steps.

Ok so you buy the name and change the name servers....

Without the cooperation of administration on their end you are doing nothing. With the cooperation on their end you are simply redirecting your name to their site they designate. ( a site hosted on their DNS)

Still does nothing for you.
