Sorry if this is dicussed already,

but what are the tricks to dominating google images search?

list them here if you have some :)

I am working on that for the company I work for. Mostly, using long tail keyword G Search and G Image Search, downloading, and then modifiying the image name some, then upload under our Flickr and Picasa accounts. Also, all blog entries have at least one if not three pictures with longtail keywords. These are uploaded to our hosting account.

Setting up a image marketing linkwheel would help, as well, I just haven't had the time to do that yet.

Nothing black hat about that, sorry, but basic stuff if you didn't already know it. I'd be interested to hear more, of course.

The most important tip:

Rename your images file to long tail keywords you want to target

Eg: long tail kw1 :a big hairy gorilla
long tail kw 2: big gorilla with hair

rename your image to: a-big-hairy-gorilla.jpg
remane title and alt text to big gorilla with har

Do this with all the images on your site.

Thats a basic outline of how I dominate images.
( ong tail keyword research is critical)

You can also upload the images to all file sharing/image
sites and ensure that you WATERMARK these images
with your URL

And what about one-word keyword.Doing this mentioned above didn't push my images to first page targeting low competition keyword. It must be more to do,I think or...

On sites which I over-optimise (i.e. build too many links to and get sandboxed), I tend to naturally dominate image results. It seems that it's just based on the number of links, with no spam filter.

There is a way to fix it on wordpress so that when someone views your image, it removes the google images frame and takes thwem directly to your site instead. I forget exactly what it is though, google it.

I am running wordpress sites and I just make sure each image as its post title as alt text. Did it for about two months. Now gg image referrals have outraced that from gg search.

The plugin you need for that purpose is named seo-image:

http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/seo-image/

The only challenge on using this trick is on those post without an image. I get around it by inserting stock photos from a close subject theme. And then it incurs a task of building an inventory of stock photos on different subjects LOL.

Xsitepro II does all this and 100 times more...

How do you montize with gi?

The surrounding text, if any, and if relevant, might help as well.

you can also backlink to the image with the keyword and thatll knock u up

I was getting 3k uniques from hijacking someones image on accident. It ranked number 1 when you searched for this person. I hotlinked the image on my site. In google's search the site I linked from was listed as the url but it was sending it to my site. It lasted for a few weeks. I see hijacked images all the time. If you look at the url for the image it will list 2 sites a lot of times. Here is an example. This site Techwoo.c0m (sorry if it is yours) hijacks images and gets most of it's traffic from it. This is the hijacked picture link that has the number one result for Gina Carano.

hxxp://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://ginacaranomaxim.files.wordpress.com/2008/08/gina-carano-3.jpg&imgrefurl=http://techwoo.com/gina-carano-has-a-pretty-hairstyle/&h=500&w=333&sz=125&tbnid=t2d1mTcjxdUxCM:&tbnh=130&tbnw=87&prev=/images%3Fq%3DGina%2BCarano&hl=en&usg=__3eH8An0Cl5Q7GsBiosDX0Ebu8TU=&ei=z0O1Su3kJpOsMLnukNoO&sa=X&oi=image_result&resnum=4&ct=image

Looks like it uses the site that is hosting the image's PR but when you hotlink it all the traffic gets sent to your site instead. I've been trying to figure this out for months now after I did it by accident. I had the original sites url in my ALT tag but I think google changed something. All of my images were dropped from google search but it might have been because I was getting 3k hits a day on a blog that was up for less than a month. I'm not sure on how to get it back. Any advice would rock.

like everyone said before long tail I mean the keyword you want t rank for and the ALT text is very relevant also make sure your pcitures are in gif format it seems like those rank better because picture weight is low.

keep in mind that some back links to the pictures will help also if you know what I mean.
:)

Check this way of http://foliovision.com/2008/03/26/seo-google-images/

Also be carefull: Images traffic can be very destructive: one day, I ranked number 4 for Britney Spears and got 40000 UV A DAY
Be sure to be able to handle such a massive amount of traffic.

The best way to monetize image traffic is the hated Zango: I made $XXXX a year with them using only image traffic.

Hope this helps.

Anybody knows how to rename jpg pics in batch?

What I mean I have a folder with all the pics with the usual example dsc001, dsc002,dsc003, etc
and I have a text file or xls, csv or whatever with a list of keywords,

I would like to rename each pics with one of the keywords.

Each pics should be renamed with a different keyword or name, nothing else to change.

I googled a lot and used a few utilities, but I cannot make works or I am stupid.

Please Help
