Just curious what logs could be kept if the VPN doesn't keep any.

For example, I recently signed up with BTGuard. My torrent client connects directly to BTGuard over an encrypted connection. All my ISP can see is that I connect to BTGuard. If BTGuard doesn't keep any logs and the connection to the torrent trackers and the actual files is between BTGuard and the tracker/host sites, there's nothing to log that would identify me.

    Am I missing something?

I use them just for the six strikes thing that went into effect this week. I don't need the hassle of getting warning letters or having my bandwidth throttled because I want to download some TV show that's available for free on the network's website anyway.

For that purpose, I think a lot of the recommendations on the OP's list make sense.
