Matthew, I think you have a great site and some great content but your Free SEO tools page has WAY too many affiliate links. It just looks biased. I just wanted to let you know what I thought.

Thanks for your thoughts - they all point to free tools/trials/services though and I specifically tell people how to get the most out of the trials without paying anything ^^

For checking backlinks - Backlinkwatch and Moonsearch are 100% free. I am constantly in a desperate search of free SEO tools myself so I will be glad to see other suggestions.

Free would be manual, but it'll take you a lot of time. If you have patience for it, great, more power to you!

But as you start to earn money, I would advise that you start to invest into your business. Paid services/software can take your business to new heights IF what you purchase is good that is.

Google Trends
Google keyword tool
Analytic
Google web master tool

Google suggested search is the best free tool It's like the algorithm giving you a hint what content it's hungry for.

GSA SER has a 5 day trial that doesn't require a payment. The full version of course isn't free but there aren't too many good free SEO tools.
