Last time I tried this, I only got 2 responses so I scratched the project.

How about a Yahoo answers bot which I can just load up with a ton of account, a list of proxies and it will answer questions using a criteria I specify such as specific keywords, date or number; with rotating answers so that every answer is unique. Example:

What a -word 1- -word 2- question. You will -word 3- your answer -word 4-

Where words 1, 2, 3 and 4 are randomly rotating from a list of predefined words.


Make this bot and I'll donate you a reasonable amount of money

If you block out the twitter urls for you keywords you can just forward whatever normal texts you get ever day (I do about 80 a day) to you twitter bucket and you banging keywords into Google all day! No?

It's a good idea, but nobody is going to make this for you then hand it to you for free. The purpose of these threads isn't to "give back to the community", it's to harvest free ideas from the community and make money off of them. These types of threads popup every week and they always end up the same, tons of people make software requests, but none of them are ever developed and posted.

If you want something done, either learn to program, learn imacros, or pay somebody who can do either one for you.

Thanks to those of you who have offered suggestions so far. The two most requested as of now appear to be:

• vBulletin PM Spammer
• Yahoo Answers Bot

Every suggestion each of you made is duly noted though.

But obviously, SENuke, XRumer, and Market Samurai clones are way too ambitious... what's wrong with them as they are anyways? If it's just the fact that they're not free, keep in mind that the guys maintaining the software are trying to make a living off of what they do. Paying them for programs that help you make way more than your money back is the least you could do... If there are some serious flaws you're not happy about, then guess that's another issue.

As to the haters out there, what's with the hate? I set a public deadline for a reason. None of you will be led on indefinitely, and if by that point I've done nothing, feel free to flame away. If you're trying to annoy me into proving you wrong, it's working... but I'd still appreciate some constructive feedback.

And NO, this is NOT an attempt for me to make money. What I release will be free, 100% clean, and with no strings attached. That's not promising I won't one day release a program for sale, but I don't intend to do that for some time, if ever.

I honestly see this as an opportunity for me to give back, as what I've learned and applied from BHW has seriously changed my life. I've definitely taken much more than I've given back up to this point, and this is my chance to rectify that. If my work is well-received, then I look forward to making more releases in the future. Until then, I suppose I need to prove myself. Just wait till 2/21 (maybe sooner), and in the meantime, any more feedback is very welcome.

The hate is coming because there are posts like this every month and the person who started it leads people on for weeks and weeks then suddenly disappears. The fact is there are hundreds if not thousands of bot / app ideas plastered everywhere on this forum, you shouldn't need suggestions.

Also one big thing that generates the hate is that these often serve as nothing more than free ideas to a programmer who will then go and create an app around that and sell it on.

Im not saying you plan on any of these nefarious deeds but excuse me if I choose to remain sceptical till Im proven wrong.

A bot that has the ability to create accounts at specific forum platforms (vBulletin, Expression Engine and/or SMF) and also has the ability to go back to those accounts a few days later and edit the signature/profile sections and export a list of your publicly viewable profile url's.

I have no idea about programming so I'm not sure if this would be difficult or not.

Alright guys, here's the plan. The PM spammer is currently most requested, with a YA bot in a close second. However, since I have zero experience with PM spamming, YA is tentatively my project of choice.

I will need to do some research first with regards to what I can or can't easily do. In the meantime, I'm still open to other ideas, but I'd really like to see what else you want to see in the YA bot.

I will begin development within the next couple days.

After I begin development, I will start releasing screenshots and descriptions detailing my progress. I'd also like if a couple beta testers would be willing to try out the program for ironing out bugs, giving feedback on what you'd like to see, etc. But I request that you only ask to try it out if you're seriously willing to offer helpful suggestions.

In the meantime, feature requests and more suggestions are always welcome.

Alright everyone, I have a working prototype of the Yahoo Answers bot ready.

What the prototype currently does is:

1. Logs into a yahoo account given an IP. Accounts and IPs are read from text files and chosen randomly.
2. Searches for all open questions in the past week based on your keyword.
3. Then it visits each of those questions and answers them based on your content, given in synonymized format like {so|this|what you see here}.

Here's a debugging output (minus my info):

No GUI as of yet. But I'll probably get that ready in a couple days.

Looking forward to hear any more suggestions.

Hey guys, just as a quick update. I'm on track to release the Yahoo Answers Bot today. And I will NOT sleep until it's finished. Also, tonight's release is going to be it. I may update from time to time, but don't count on that.

Yes, I have been putting off working on the bot. I've mostly been trying to avoid dealing with the GUI part till now, but I've been working on other projects. For example, take a look here for results from a recent keyword mining tool I've been developing:

The source code for half of this is available already. It's called the "chomskybot" that was written to mimic the linguistic writings of Noam Chomsky.

It reads data from three separate external sources and combines them, exactly as you requested. Naturally you'd want to provide your own three data sources since Chomsky's metalinguistic presentationism is not known for bringing home the SEO bacon.

Just enter "chomskybot" into any search engine and check the academic sites; finding source code should be no problem.

PS: As I was writing this I also thought of "chatterbots" which are programs designed to mimic human discourse. I wonder if they'd be any use for e-whoring; if we have autoblogging I can't imagine that autowhoring is impossible!

I think that a "dripper" utility would be great.

The really powerful SEO software boasts it can do five quadrillion posts a second if you use a few million threads. That's fine if you just heard that Dogbert got hit by a car and you know that "Dogbert" will be the top Google search for a few days. Then you want to blast out five quadrillion links mentioning Dogbert to lure people to your site of the All-Okra Diet.

But there's another need that some of us have: it's for a slow gradual slightly-increasing set of links or pings. We need something that would post daily numbers like: 3 5 2 3 1 7 6 8 4 8 6 3 10 9 11 7 ....

The "ripper" software would ride atop the ultrapowerful code and count the number of posts. Then, when the magic daily number was hit it would do a Porky Pig and say "tha tha that's all folks!" as it forced an exit.
