Now i know that there are dozens of sites out there. But as a beginner how should i start.

Elance is a good place to start.

There is a lot of competition out there. I would start by checking on your competition, come up with your own pricing structure, get a site and advertise on the forums.

As always, I like to say, if you're a newbie writer start with iWriter. If you fail to deliver quality there and if you don't get (average) 4 +stars (needed for Premium writers) after first 30 articles you are not a writer material and you should find another job.

And, I say that don't listen to him. There are plenty of idiots on that website who reject articles for no reason. 4-5 articles rejected and you're fucked up. You can use it as a starter, but you should not use it as a platform to judge your writing skills. So, no matter what avoid quitting unless you are lack passion for writing and desire to improve. Start writing for Blackhatters. Get some iTraders and build your rep. Within a month or two start a BST. Although there's lot of competition, you can still make it big if you're having some special feature. All the best.

I think 30 articles is good ammount of work to see if you're good or not. I didn't told him to quit after 1 article. My expirience, everybody will release the money and pay for the effort as long as you deliver good (not even great) content. If you deliver great content you can even build a some sort of career there. And if he's new to writing why would he write for black hatters? iWriter is a good starting point, after that sites like Elance and after that (once you see you have the quality) build your site/blog and make a business out of it.

Simply don't, too many people do it.

I respect your perception and opinion, but I humbly don't agree with them. No one is asking him instantly to write for BHW guys. He can do that after he acclimatizes with this industry by writing for buyers from iWriter.

Place gigs on sites such as SEOclerks or fiveer. Then you can get a following of people that like your work and build up gradually.
