Squidoo. Is it still worth it?
Hello,
I want to ask, is it still worth going with squidoo? I saw some people making decent money with squidoo blogs, but it was some time ago. I'm thinking about outsourcing articles writing and just mass upload them to squidoo (quality article of course). Can anyone tell me how their payment system works and is it still worth going with them?
Thanks!

Not really. Unless you write in often. Then yes

Thanks, waiting for more replies. I'm thinking about posting 10 articles a week about various topics, but I don't want to invest if there will be no ROI.

Re: Squidoo. Is it still worth it?
it partially depends on how want or expect to make money with squidoo. Just to warn you I had dozens of lenses made like 10-20 per account and I had them basically all deleted in a matter of 2 days, these were lenses I worked on pretty hard too. Squidoo is really odd about so called illegal topics they will leave some up about the same topic and remove others, I learned my lesson the hard way

And, what were the articles about? What's considered illegal to one person, might seem legit to another. Maybe if you shared what the topics were, it would save others the time so they wouldn't have to make the same mistake.

If you are planning to post 10 articles per week why not just create an authority site? You can earn a lot more with authority sites and your content won't be deleted unless you delete it yourself. You just need to focus on doing some long term SEO in order to see the site earning a decent amount of cash. Once you are done with the site and you don't want it anymore then you can just flip it. its more money compared to having some squidoo lens.

Re: Squidoo. Is it still worth it?
It has been harder to get lenses to stay live lately. Out of 30 lenses I have posted I only have 10 that are live. One topic they called illegal was emu oil for hair treatment, others I had were a little more obvious. I had a lens that was ranked in the top 6K lenses and it received a little over 100 views per day and makes around $8 per month, it is about body art. All my lenses are unique except one indecent where my va posted 6 articles I ripped from translated youtube videos. These all got flagged and after that I think it tripped a filter and has my lenses reviewed harder. As far as overall traffic generated from squidoo I have noticed a decrease for my lenses. And as far as earnings it is around $10 per month so imo earning potential is slim. I have heard of others earning well but they have invested a considerable amount of time and in my situation the ROI is just not there. I agree with what someone said earlier and use the content on your own site. In 2013 I am trying to not rely too much on google, youtube, squidoo, or others policies of the week affecting my bank account.
I will say I personally use squidoo for tier 1 links and think it is one of the best free links you can get (real traffic, good pr, and earning potential) but I do not look at it as a source for revenue. This is just my opinion.

This is exactly what you need to be doing, doing risk having everything deleted on a 3rd party site if you're putting in that much effort.

This is what I would do. Squidoo is only good for backlinks.

Re: Squidoo. Is it still worth it?
Squidoo still works... mostly in affiliate sales. But if want income from the lens itself... you gotta have it in the top 2000... and that's so hard to achieve as there are lots and lots of competition. And often time if you're near the top some lensmaster (your competition) would try their best to get you banned.

I dont get it, what effort are you putting into squidoo that would prevent you from doing both a squidoo whilst creating your own authority site. Save the information you put on sqiuidoo so they delete your account you still have the article.

Squidoo is really just good for backlinks.

Re: Squidoo. Is it still worth it?
I can vouch for Squidoo being a very 'clique' place. Most of the top squids are all 'in it together' and create crappy ebook on the 'wonker warrior forum' . they all kiss each others asses to get bent reviews of their WSO's. It is very easy to make enemies there and i can easily believe if your lenses started putting pressure on the top people, they would effect it in a bad way. The so called squid angels are, anything but ! more like squidoo suicide squads killing your lenses if they feel like it.
I think a lot of newbies, like myself are put off from making websites as it is hard to know what to do and how to even get it noticed, with Squidoo this is easy and way so many people choose it.
But, i would advise anyone to stay away from the place and make your own sites, where you are in control. Squidoo can easily kill your lenses anytime.
If you do join, stay of the forums. And keep yourself to yourself.

Squidoo is now no follow for all of their links as of today so it's useless for backlinks anymore. As far as bannning lenses, they are banning them left and right. Google killed their traffic so they are in a total panic mode now and a lot of people are leaving and getting their accounts deleted as well.

Re: Squidoo. Is it still worth it?
I use squidoo to promote my affiliate site. Only have one lens that i put any effort into. I bought a few fiverr backlink gigs for it and tweak it a couple times a month. Its ranking at about 7,000, received 90 visitors today and earns $8-$15/month in ad revenue. Plus it gets people going to my site, which makes me a bit of affiliate sales money. I plan to make more lenses pointing to my site soon. I've had this account and this lens for over a year with no problems.
