I'm deciding which is a better choice:

1. Hire my own writer

OR

2. Outsource to a content provider here at BHW

I know someone who is a journalism graduate who is willing to do it for the same price as outsourced articles. (Not a native english speaker)

Can you please share your ideas on the pros and con of the two choices? I need at least 100 articles a month.

My answer would be biased, of course

But anyway, I'll help you decide. First, what is the niche? Is that something your journalism friend excels in? If he/she has mastery over the niche, then it's better to go with her.

The only problem with that is he/she may not have experience in writing website content yet. There's more to writing than just, you know, WRITING the article.

I suggest you go with your own writer if he/she can handle the niche. Now, if you can find someone here in BHW who has experience in your niche, then maybe you should consider it as well.

For what it's worth, I'm also a writer. ^^ If you're confused and have no one else to go to, I'm just here.

Now coming to your question, I believe that hiring a personal writer always is a better option. You can call up your personal writer at any point of time and ask him to write, but you can't do the same with a writing service. Moreover, a personal writer will be more flexible. By this, I mean to say if you want an article on an urgent basis, then you can request him to do so. He would obviously comply with your request. But, you can't expect the same from a writing service. In case of a personal writer, you have someone who can be clearly (Visible) be held accountable for the work done. However, in case of writing services, the articles are written by ghost writers and the person heading the team may lack knowledge about a particular article.

I am extremely sorry to all those who felt bad and were hurt by my comment. But, I just stated my personal viewpoint.

Hiring a personal writer has its share of disadvantages too. For instance, if you have few articles to be done on an urgent basis but your personal writer raises his hands at the end moment, stating his inability to write the article, then you will have no alternative option. However, a writing service has many ghost writers, so they will have at least one writer who can efficiently writing on the said topic. Apart from this, if your personal writer falls sick or has some personal problems, here again you will be in a fix. This may never happen with a writing service because they have many writers. If one writer falls sick, then there will be another writer who will finish your article.

There are various other pros and cons, but I suppose for the time being these points are sufficient. I wish you all the luck for your upcoming projects.

I'd suggest you to go with outsourcing if you'd need articles in different niches because personal writer may not be able to handle different topics or niches which he isn't proficient. If your articles aren't very diverse stick to a personal writer.

Hi bro, I'd just want to clarify something... I myself am an article service provider here in BHW; but unlike them, I write everything on my own. I don't have ghost writers. So I think I'm a rare case then?

By "article service provider" he meant a company which hires/employs bunch of writers, not that a single writer provides article service :-).. So if the niche is diverse it's better to give(outsource) to the organization who will take care of providing the articles written by more than one person depending on the niche the writer is specialized in.

You are among the rare ones who haven't hired any writer. I do know couple of guys who have a BST but don't have a writing team. It has both merits & demerits.
Well, I do agree with couple of points made by you in the post prior to this. Everyone has their own thoughts and perceptions. And I respect them.

Do cost benefit analysis and let you decide yourself - What to do?

Assuming a $4-5 price per article, 100 artciles will cost you somthing around $500
If full time writer is ready to job less than for that Then hire him otherwise opt for Freelancer
provided both options are equal on quality content aspect.

I've tried both outsourcing to providers here, and to professional friends.
My experience now leads me to make a list of people you find relevant in your niche,
(search for forums surrounding your niche, look for the people with a large amount of posts)
and ask them if they would like the job. Some times, These people are just interested in
writing about the subject, and you could be the reason they finally get paid for it.

Try iWriter and textbrokers. Good quality, low prices. Worth testing out.

I like to have a few good people I don't like all my writing depending on one person.

if you are looking for a personal article writer, I am interested. Can write very good quality articles for decent pay.

If you are paying low rates it is way better to work with a company... A company has reputation to uphold and a steady profit from their business model, while a personally hired writer will burn out quickly doing 100 articles a month for low pay and then they will disappear and it won't cause them any issues (there's a massive abundance of low-paid article writing work) while you'll be screwed. If they don't burn out in a month, they are very likely to disappear as soon as the volume drops for a month. Low priced article writing companies essentially run writing sweatshops, and that's the only way to keep low priced articles flowing reliably.

I would just outsource much easier in my opinion
