Hi,

I'm looking for peoples views, advice etc. on article writing - and the best way to get into it.

This isn't for me directly - it's for my girlfriend, she's currently unemployed (I'm working full time) due to health.

She plans to get back working in the future, however while recovering would like to bring some money in to help us. I think getting into something like Article writing would be great for her (Not just for the money - she actually enjoys that kind of thing).

This would help give us a financial boost, help remove the feeling of "Guilt" (For not bringing money into our household) and I think she'd enjoy it. I'm not talking thousands, but a small income which would help buy some groceries, let her go and get a new dress etc. would be amazing.

Therefore my question is the best method of getting into this. I've tryed posting a Gig on Fiverr - with no responses so far. Would I be best trying to target the articles to her interests/experiences? And is Fiverr the right site to be doing this? I talked to her about it and she said she'd be happy to work on pretty much anything (Aslong as it's not inappropriate - such as adult material)

This is a very genuine thing for the right reasons, and I could do with some advice/help on how best to set things up. I think she'd like to do the research and spend some time writing high quality articles, it would also help keep her mind active etc. while recovering.

Please let me know what you think and any advice etc. would be very much appreciated.

Have you tried odesk.com? She can apply for article jobs there

Good luck

Your best bet are the main forums (BHW included). This is the easiest way to find people that need articles on regular basis and that pay at least somewhat reasonable rates. If she's any good and a native speaker, she can start with 1.5c per word and go to 2-3c per word after a while.

Good luck

I can help you! Is she willing to fill out a w9 and get paid weekly? What is her education level and how well does she write? I buy 20-40 articles per week...

Wait you are in the UK, I am not sure how that works in that case....
Perhaps we can do paypal, pay per completion... You would have to submit an invoice (can be done in word) for our record keeping etc....

Yes she's native, and very good at research / literature. Do you think it's worth offering a free article to someone if they are willing to offer a testimonial / review?

I think she'd prefer to be working with someone requiring regular articles rather than going through Fiverr (Plus you don't loose $1 for every article!). Thinking about the payment side of things would it usually be 1/2 upfront and 1/2 upon completion of the article?

Thanks for the recommendation Ouchthathurts - I'll check it out.

Thanks for your help,
