Hey everyone

I have written a test article for someone and he paid me a a small nominal sum for my work which I was happy to do he now wants me to quote a price for 600 words - web content.

I have never written articles for people on the web before so I have no idea what the going rate is but I know some one here will know or at least have a rough idea.

Can someone please help me I really want to write for this bloke but don't know what an acceptable amount is???

1$ / 100 words is acceptable if your english is good.

My English is perfect and all my writing is proof read by 2 people both of which have masters degrees for which they had to write long long essays with correct punctuation and English.

Depends on who the client is, how much you're willing to work for, how well you know the topic, etc. If you're not sure, take your ideal hourly rate, divide it by how long it takes you to write an article and quote that.

I've known people who get paid $2000/mo for 1 blog post/week working for "offline" clients and I recall seeing on BHW that someone was getting his articles for $1/article. There's a huge difference in prices depending on the client/your skill level/knowledge of the topic.

I'd agree with Dragoswest....about $1 per 100 words is a good going rate!!

I am thinking about not writing for this client as he is very confusing and does not state what he needs writing very well to be honest it is becoming very annoying receiving constant emails telling me he has x amount of writers but he is waiting on me.

At first I thought he was a scammer trying to con articles but he paid me upfront and is still offering to do so.

Someone here may also be able to answer a few more questions I have

Say for example the person I was writing for was not happy with the articles what would happen next?

Are people who request you write articles for them always so pushy, clingy almost and annoying. I'm not being silly just saying things how I see them.

For simple article writing $1/100 words is enough but when it comes to writing for a website's pages then the price must be ranging between $1.5 to $2 per 100 words. Well, it also depends on writing experience and quality of content. While writing for a site you have to write sales driven content... a bit fluffy.. a bit informative.. but highly oriented to the services offered by the site owner. If you are good at this then go ahead and ask for a good price quote.

I personally pay the user Ramsweb 7.50 per 500 word article.

His quality is outstanding. Maybe hit him up with a PM and talk to him a bit and he could help guide you as he has been doing this for some time.

It varies quite a bit. We charge anywhere from $1.40 per 100 words to $2 per 100 words. I even recommended a copy writer to a client who is charging $5 per 100 words. Ideally, put a small sample of your work here and ask the regulars such as Bass Tracker Boats to send you a PM with how much they value it at. Average it out and you should have a pretty good starting point. If you're good, don't sell your services for cheap. Thats the best advice I got from this forum. You will find clients at all points of the graph.

At least $1.5 per 100 words - what people get for $1 per 100 wrods is GARBAGE and I challenge anyone to prove me wrong. I have been dealing with writing and writers for years and I know what I'm talking about....

It depends on person how much he/she is willing to pay..
Starting from $1/100 words is fair enough

$1/100 words will be fine for the beginning

$1/100 words minimum, reserve the right to charge more for special projects, esp. with a short deadline...and seek out new and better clients asap...
