First ever article rejected
Only just registered, but I have been browsing the forums for about a year. I hope to post here semi-regularly
I manually wrote an article last night, and submitted it. I checked earlier and noticed that it had been rejected, because it was "Advertisement". This article links to a clickbank affiliate link, but nearly every article I see links back to a clickbank link... So I am a little confused. I put the link at the bottom, with some text along the lines of "You may wish to check out x by clicking here", I deliberately didn't mention anything about buying a product, yet they say my article is advertisement but none of the other peoples are :S
Can anyone shed some light on this please? Thanks

Re: First ever article rejected
The directory you submitted it to may be changing its policy for new articles, perhaps in response to recent changes at Google. Find or re-write a similar article, set up a blog/minisite that posts the similar article and link it to the affiliate page. Change the link on your rejected article to the blog/minisite and re-submit.

I think I have identified the specific section of content that means it looks too much like advertising, and will edit it one more time to see if it gets accepted then, if not I will ditch the article (or possibly submit it to a different directory).
The article that was accepted has 0 views so far and its been up for about 6 hours... Is that normal? I am not entirely sure how to promote it without any other sites linking back to it.
Nonetheless, thanks for your help

Yeah, if you're not promoting it yet, 0 views is fairly normal. I am confident you will change that though!

Re: First ever article rejected
I have started using Twitter, Stumbleupon, and Scrapebox.
Can anyone tell me if using Scrapebox linking directly back to the article is a good idea? I am not too sure.
Thanks
