    Exclamation AC declines why?

For awhile now, i have been submitting articles to AC cause I'm in need of money. I've been buying from others and at times even writing my own. Most of the time they are being declined! The only reason is that i need to site my own sources. They say it every time! Can anyone help me with this problem? Most of the time I'm not even using a source to cite.

It depends on what kind of articles you are doing. If you are trying to do something that needs citations for it's legitimacy such as science or medicine or anything like that than you'll need sources, such work without a source might as well be considered false.

Yeah the require usually at least once source for your article. I usually find some random release or something that has some info about the topic with it.

So pretty much just search in g00gle something related to your topic and just put the link at the end of the article? That will most likely solve the problem?

Try some product or service reviews and localize the content. Search first and see if a lot of them have been done in your topic first. These are easier to get accepted.

For instance "Best Pizza Parlors in Albany, NY" or "Finding a Pet Groomer in East Landing"...etc

Yes. Even if I don't use a source for my article, I always cite one anyway. Like you said, just do a search in google and cite something related to your article. The correct way to cite your sources for A*C is as follows:
Author of the Article, "Title of Article", Name of Site

If the article doesn't have a author listed, just exclude that part and just use the Title of Article and Name of site.

The Title of the article should be hyperlinked to the actual article.

    Hope that helps.

Does that citing goes at the bottom of the body ?

Thats interesting. For AC all I do is put the link of the page and its counted as a source. is it possible that when i put the link at the bottom of the body as a source that it harms my payment?

@Vicious- Maybe, but I doubt it because this it what redtide says he does. But the way that A*C says to cite your sources is what I mentioned above. I cited sources by just placing the link at the bottom on a couple of articles and I didn't really notice a difference.
@seosutra- Yes, the sources are cited at the bottom of your article.

I find the best way to deal with sources is to just get used to looking up 1-2 for every single article with AC. Trying to second guess whether the editors consider it necessery or not is a trial in frustration with wasted time submitting and rejections. It became so much easier and predictable once I made it part of the routine of submission.

There's no difference in pay whether citing sources the way they ask you to or not. I did it their way and just found it way too time consuming. I just put under each article:

    Sources:

Are you using a lot of sentences like

"There are 10 million people suffering so & so diseases in United States" in your articles?

I used to do the same mistake and the editors would ask for source..

Nowadays I use sentences like "There are lots of people suffering from so & so diseases in United States" and the article gets approved without any problem.

Hope that makes sense to ya,

Like much has been said in the thread, stay away from medical or health related articles that have statistical claims and such.

Try to focus instead on "how to" articles. I've had alot of success with those.

yea even if it's declined for upfront, toss it up anyway for performance - off of 30 articles i wrote on my wife's account i get about 2 bucks a month from that alone.

they will give you a reason why - whether it's too much like other content (not copyright stuff, more like they already have enough of that subject contributed) or whether or not it was up to their standards. some nazi editors are just dicks.

Could it be a misspelling or grammatical rejection? Pure speculation, mind you, but a single misuse of "to/two/too" or "they're/there/their" etc. could lead to it being kicked. Proofreading is my hobby (maybe a business someday???) and I almost always find errors in articles, even from major publications. If you'd like you can PM me the article for an analysis of its "nuts & bolts". Since I'm new here (reading & learning, this is the first post that I thought I could contribute) I would be glad to do it as a goodwill gesture.
