AC is so much better!
AC is so much better than this junk! Oh my word, I am so sick of the copy editors on Demand Studios (DS). I don't want to give too much detail to track back to my account.
OK.. here is my deal. I spent roughly an hour writing about xxx title. I got my 3 references and 1 resource. I sent it through the rightgrammar program.
So.. I get it back for an edit. The intro paragraph is NOT enough words and doesn't provide the reader with what the article is supposed to be about. Hmmm. THAT request is against their guidelines. But I say WTH I'll do it anyway, like THEY said to.
So.. then the 2nd part is the copy editor asking WHY does the scientific formula I use require you to divide by xx number. I fix this with you divide your result by xx number, according to the xx standard scientific formula.
I GET A REJECT ON FRIDAY BECAUSE:
[1] the intro tells what's in the article (you know that thesis statement part of articles?)
[2] i can't tell the editor why some scientist decided that a particular part of his numerical formula is needed in making a scientific calculation to complete the task in the title
So, for $15 I spent 30 minutes finding appropriate references.
I spent 40 minutes writing in the appropriate format by the guidelines.
I spent 2 minutes submitting for payment.
I spent 1 minute opening and reading the copy editor requests.
I spent 5 minutes on revisions.
I spent 2 minutes submitting for payment again.
Then I get a reject.. spend 5 more minutes opening and reading the BS comments for the rejection. Then I get $0!!!!
You can't appeal a reject. ONLY the rewrites. ALL of my appeals for rewrite requests TIME OUT and are deleted by the system before the DS staff gets around to reviewing them. This has happened now with 12 rewrite appeals. You do the math on that one. 12 times $15 each! That's 36 references, 12 resources, and blah blah number of words.
DS is getting to be totally ridiculous with their expectations of what writers are to provide for $15.
I'll take AC any day!!!!! Even at $3 an article, I can make more money with AC working steady and not have to worry about some copy editor that is smoking crack or drunk when they log into DS to play 'God' with people's lives, money and ability to pay their bills.

Re: AC is so much better!
That's the same reason I left DS. It's great when you can get random things through but it doesn't make the bs worthwhile. Profiting $5 an article that you didn't even have to write, and scaling it up, is a lot better use of time in my book.
If you want in with my two favorite CPA networks shoot me a PM and I'll get you in. No cost - just don't send any CC fraud shit. Weekly payouts with $1K a week in leads

You are so right on that! I'm so done with them. It's not worth pulling my hair out over the BS that they're putting the writers through right now.

Re: AC is so much better!
Last time I submitted to them was about 4 months ago, I can only imagine it's only gotten worse as more people have signed on to publish content. If they were clearer upfront about what changes they want, they would save a lot less hair getting pulled out in the long run.

Playing 'God'? Since when does God have an active influence on our daily affairs?

Re: AC is so much better!
OH MY!!
See, this is EXACTLY what is keeping me from applying to DS. The editor horror stories, the endless reference citing, and then, all that work for naught. For crying out loud, it's a HOW TO (I assume) article on the freakin' internet, not a dissertation!
And for only $15 (or nothing, in your case...omg! yikes). I want to apply there because I probably could end up paying off my car within a few months, but I just don't know. $15 really isn't that much for all the work that goes into it. Today, I churned out a $4 C4C on AC in about 10 minutes...not bad, IMO. Plus, as I understand it, for most DS articles, you do not get the PV royalties. Some of my cheesy AC articles have made me way over $15 in pv's alone.
To put it into even more perspective, I sold a $60 article on Constant Content over the weekend. An article that took me maybe 40 minutes to write and research (which was easy because it was a "fluffy/non serious" topic, if that makes any sense). Yes, you deal with an editor, but they're not as picky as long as you use good grammar, follow the formatting, and write clearly. You don't need to cite references (perhaps you do with medical or scientific articles, but I don't write those).
I want to apply but...ugh. I don't know if I have the patience to deal with someone picking apart my writing like that. It'd be a blow to my ego, LOL

Re: AC is so much better!
Major ego blow. If you do the shared reviewed 'how to's' with them.. you're better off just opening up an eHow account. You don't get any upfront and after 5 years, you don't get anymore of the pv money.
The regular upfront are not eligible for anything else. It's a one-time flat fee.
@Icedcube I happen to think that there is too much power given to the copy editors and their direct ability to affect one's earnings on there. They are inconsistent in their editing demands. You make the editing demands and then they reject the article. Sorry, if I phrased it wrong.
Off to relax for the night.. Hope everyone has a good one.
