i've written a few 'controversial' articles....political in nature...and man oh man

talk about cat fights lol....people calling me every name in the book

but i don't care cuz they're increasing pvs for me...

but i wanted to add that the more shocking you can make that headline the better

Yep, Controversy sells. It's why I don't post any pictures of myself online. I'm too busy getting paid to get on people's nerve

If people on reality shows (think Omarosa) can raise rating, hell, just think what writers can do!

Another variation on this is the celebrity smackdown. Watch/record those shock talk shows (Howard Stern, Chelsea Lately et al) where the celebrity in the gossip news gets power slammed ("hey, give it up Prejean, nobody wants to see your skanky sex tape anyway") and build the comments into articles. Page views, here they come!

Definitely, especially when first starting an account and trying to get it on the right footing for higher upfronts. I like to submit 2-3 articles (as a future investment in the account's upfronts) for display only by using hot trends and controversial topics. You have to be careful not to make it too controversial or over the top though (especially sexually), or AC will yank it down even though it was initially published.

I'm trolling blogs for controversial topics... anyone know of any sites that specifically list controversial blogs? lol, I'll post if I can find one
