Default 150 visits, no conversion. Please help.

Hello,

I set up an affiliate marketing site. I have had 150 UV in one week, but only 5 clicks and ZERO conversions. The products that I'm selling are amongst amazon bestsellers. Not sure why I haven't received better CTR or no conversion.

I am doing article marketing to promote the site and the 3 pages that I've promoted and received traffic to are listed below. My articles have a 25-30% conversion on ezinearticles.

http://www.comparisonelectronics.com/samsung-ln46a550/
http://www.comparisonelectronics.com/samsung-ln22b360/
http://www.comparisonelectronics.com/samsung-ln19b650/

Please advise and thank you.

the thing with tvs is people don't just see them and say "oh i want that, i think ill buy it" it's a big decision for most americans due to there exspensive price. So you're going to need alot more than 150 views before you see a conversion. Another thing is you are better off stuffing amazon cookies on your pages than just having the links it should improve your sales by alot.

You'll need to wait until you have hads hundreds of clicks rather than just 5. Be more patient. keep doing what you're doing and hopefully success will come. remember, most will quit, but not you hopefully. good luck.

Hats off to you my young friend.

This is going to be a decision you will not soon regret. However I must tell you that some products convert at a much higher rate . Some you may be luck to convert at 1 in a thousand . I know you are thinking WOW that is a lot but it really is not once you learn the basics of traffic generation.

Here is a concept that may work for you. Create a blog and have an amazon feed attached to it. Mix it in with your normal post you can get from an autoblog plug-in. that will help you to get some more normal traffic.

Do not neglect your ping-list it is pretty important that you have a ping-list better than the default ping list WP gives you.

Also do not neglect other means of monetization to pick up the scraps. You can use google yahoo cpa or any other thing you can think of to pick up the scraps. Remeber not all visitors will convert and you want to make money off the ones that do not convert as well.

Well hope this helps some.

honestly no one in their right mind would buy a tv off that site, it just doesnt look trustworthy, safe or authoritive.. just an honest opinion.. im not trying to bash or hate

nice start, ive done that too b4. but shoot, just be happy u've even gotten that much traffic and clicks with that site.. keep upgrading the site make it look nicer and make it look like people are using it then people will begin to trust it. maybe you could add some fake comments there to make it look like people are surfing there and buying

no offence taken. I have no problem with constructive criticism. I just need the proper direction.

Smeltzer: what do you mean by Amazon feed?

I do have a ping list, that i got from this site.

I debated with myself regarding adsense. I felt that $5 per day from adsense is not as good as the commission i would receive if i get affiliate sales. but am rethinking that. i was afraid that if i send users away from my site, i will loose prospective affiliate sales.

Adsense is just to pick up the scraps of the users who would not buy anyway.

There is an amazon plug-in for wordpress you can find it somewhere around here I am sure.

took a look at your page. to be honest i see some issues with it. for one, your marketing an expensive item. its tough to get users to whip out their credit cards online for cheaper items. your selling an expensive retail item.

also, (please don't take offense - i am playing devils advocate here) why should i buy from your site? there isnt any brand recognition.

there is much more to generating sales online than just sending traffic to a product. think about it. would you buy a TV from Best Buy or JoeShmo's TV Store?

No offense taken.

So how do I build that recognition? I am working on a privacy policy to add. Is there anything else I can do?

You got it wrong, do not put 'purchase' or 'Order Now' or 'Buy' button or link on a blog! Nobody is going to buy anything from a blog, specially none-professional looking one. even that, hardly. Ask yourself and you know the answer. Making money with amazon using blog, best you can do is put text link ads all over the place. you either make a full on commercial site integrate with amazon (target.c0m) or (don't) make a blog to pull as much traffic as you can using unique content.

i was thinking of putting in a couple of things:

1. "Best Deal" beside the listing with the lowest cost.
2. telling them that my site is just a service that checks for the lowest rate. They need to click on the links and go directly to the seller site to buy the TV. that way, i am telling them that i'm not selling anything.

What do you guys think?

150 hits is nothing man you need thousands to see your true conversions.
