i have been an amazon affiliate for about 2 months, this being my second. i heard some rumors about amazon being very easy to get banned from if im not doing it legit. are they intense about looking at traffic? what would be a good amount to stay under the radar? thanks!

I just got banned..... aarghh, me being the stupid ass risking my account by redistributing their rss feeds on 3rd part sites (rss directories and such).
The fucked up thing is that I also have some legit sites, I just e-mailed them asking them about re-entering the program with just my legit sites.
Anybody know a good method to get a new account?

What if I set up a store with Associate-o-matic and drive traffic to it by cloaking.
Is there any chance of getting banned ??
Amazon checks for source traffic to its site right ??
Meaning it would only check if the traffic was coming from the Associate-o-matic site. So there should be no problems.

I can't imagine Amazon would be too fussy what you do on your own site as it gets them real physical sales of stuff people want (otherwise they wouldn't shell out for them). I imagine they'd be unimpressed with cookie stuffing/etc as that's basically stealing from them as you most likely didn't direct the traffic to them.
Granted I've only been an affiliate just over three months with relatively low balances, but just thinking logically.

it's just too impossible to earn 5 figures in amazon, I reckon they shave like a jewish teenage boy
I've had no indication of shaving so far. Again, still low volume, but the numbers match up perfectly with my own figures and tracking. My PHP redirect script logs where people came from (what page/link) and where they were going. Matches with Amazon's stats fine.

i thought they wouldnt rely mind about associates cookie stuffing? i might be wrong. but herd that someone that cookie stuffs amazon pretty bad, like he has million clicks but only 1k+ sales, word is he still have his account up till now. and that's been going on since last year i think.

I'm confused. If I am sending traffic through an .htaccess image to amazon can they see where the user was before hand. How would I determine what the referrer would be? I don't know if I'm going too crazy here but I've had about 125k click and just reached $120 in 8 days is this going a little to over the top.
I would like to use a double refresh but I'm not sure how to set this up as I'm using myspace for this. If anyone can help it would greatly be appreciated.

If you're worried $1000 will get you banned, then don't go for that amount. There are numerous variables that affect the way your account is viewed, and no one but amazon knows the way their staff looks upon them.

It's pretty easy actually, just like any other "marketing". targeted traffic.
My conversion rate is well above 4% overall with amazon, and some forums it's as high as 10%.

well my conversion rate has been as low as 0.07% and I have never been banned!!
I couldnt agree more. The 24 hour cookies sucks. I have been stuffing the crap out of amazon and barley breaking $100 bucks. Its too much work for the low rate of return.
