Default CPA stats question

Ok I feel stupid asking this..but I really have no idea.

Can someone please explain what are clicks and what
are impressions?

Well I know impressions are the number of times the
offer is viewed..but what are clicks? The only times
a person can click inside the offer page is when he
submits his email address, but I have 0 leads.

The most confusing thing is that at times I had more
clicks than impressions.

Tnks in advance

Hi Tony,

Assuming that you're using banner ads provided, and hosted, by the merchant/advertiser:

impressions = how many times the banner ad was rendered on any web page, email or other electronic vehicle that can pull the images from an external location.

clicks = how many times your banner(s) for that advertiser was clicked.

Hope this helps.

Best,
Sine

Hey sine,

I'm sorry I should have included this in my first post.
I'm not using banners, I'm simply redirecting people
trough a free link shortener.

Tnks tough for clearing what Impressions and Clicks
stand for, but now I'm confused on why I'm having
impressions lol.

if your using a text link, some cpas will count the view of the offer page as an impression. they count the click if they click something on the offer page if you used a text link

otherwise clicks are counted as a click when they click a banner ad

Ok, I might be wrong then. With the networks I use, impressions mean how many times an ad is displayed--with or without clicks. I'm not sure that my cpa networks show "impressions" stats, but since I belong to 18 of them, I have some trouble keeping up with all of them and I could be wrong.

The purpose of providing impressions depends upon the business model of the network. for example, it might be to prove that the network is in fact serving the PPC ads, in the case of Google Adwords. Another case might be with thenewsroom.com, which pays for impressions ... as does any advertiser who purchases ad space on sites other than their own.

If you wish, you could pm to me the network you're using and I could take a look ... if I'm an affiliate for them.

Sorry, best I can do.

Best,
Sine

Yeah, that sounds probable. Thanks gts.

Best,
Sine
