What Am I doing Wrong Here?
MODS: If this is in the wrong section, please move it, thanks.
Okay, so here's my issue...
I've built an affiliate review blog based on keyword research done in MSamurai, narrowed down my keywords to maybe 10-15 related long tail keywords for the site, chose clickbank products for the sidebar and 3 adsense ads to run in the Heatmap Theme for WP, optimized the hell out of load time and the actual articles on the site, ran linkpushes to my articles, and purchased a traffic pack targeted to the general niche.
3 of my main keywords are on page 2, and the site is getting approx 700 people daily through the traffic pack. I have no conversions or clickbank sales in a very popular niche (Finance/Investing), and the products chosen are all high payout/high conversion based on CBSnoop historical data.
Am I missing something? Should I have just built individual review blogs for each product and blasted those with articles and pushes? After putting a lot of time and effort into this site and to have it not make any sales is a bit frustrating.
All the articles and products are topically relevant, and the KW's are pulling traffic themselves, but I see no sales. Occasionally hops, but no sales.
Any ideas? Any steps I left out? I'm trying to tweak this thing to make sales but I might have just made a dud website that cost a lot.
Thanks guys.

Re: What Am I doing Wrong Here?
Not sure I can help but clarify something for me first.
You said you have an affiliate review blog and have CB products in the sidebar. I am assuming that you are reviewing the CB products. Correct me if I am wrong.
As for the traffic pack. Most people buy traffic to water down conversions they are getting from black hat methods to avoid raising suspicion. As far as I know it does not convert well if at all.
Page 2 for a few keywords is a start but not much traffic there. Page 1 above the fold will give you the targeted traffic you need. Hopefully with a little more work you can get there.
Some tips:
- Forget buying traffic and work on getting organic traffic from google.
- If you want to promote adsense then put 3 ad blocks on the site and monetize with adsense.
- If you want to promote clickbank products then make that your focus. Give reviews and make them sound like the best thing since sliced bread.
- Get the real traffic first and tweak it from there.
Good luck whatever ya do Bro.

Re: What Am I doing Wrong Here?
I haven't reviewed the CB products as of yet, I've been doing my major keywords to get adsense rolling, figured it might be easier but I guess I should just focus on CB like you're saying.
Ah, I thought targeted traffic would cause maybe a slight influx of sales/clicks. I'll keep blasting my keywords for page 1 then.
Thanks for the insight.

That's the big clue that your ads aren't doing their job. Either the ads just suck (aren't getting noticed or aren't compelling), or you're not pushing products that are a good fit with the traffic that you're receiving.
It sounds like you're getting decent traffic, so now you have to tweak your ads for a high CTR (aim for 5-10% for starters) and also tweak them so you're sending clicks to the products that will convert.

I agree with this. Try to create better ads. Your site has traffic, your ads are not converting.
What is your bounce rate? Are you running the traffic off as soon as they arrive in some way.

Re: What Am I doing Wrong Here?
The issue I think is that the bought traffic is broad (investment niche) whereas the CB ads are more exact (ex: HectorTrader, Options University, etc). Also, the bounce rate was over 95% because of page load speeds, which have since been rectified and are now dropping slightly.
I'm guessing I should get off shared hosting if I'm going to run more than 1 of these at a time? I'm on HostGator, is there maybe a faster host someone can recommend?
As far as ads go, I've currently got:
1 468x60
4 125x125
1 Skyscraper
2 250x250
2 250x60
All but 3 are adsense.
Should I stick with just making review sites for one particular product? One clickbank launch at a time?
I'm getting to the point where I think I have a firm grasp on the 3 areas of doing this (Technology, Marketing, Offers to Promote), but I think 1 or all of these aren't working. YET.
Thanks for the insight guys!

Re: What Am I doing Wrong Here?
Actually I'm just doing straight affiliate products via ClickBank using snooper to figure out which ones to use based on conversion rates and past data, it's really helpful.

It's all related to one niche since the site is based off of those keywords only, but they all relate to the articles on the site. I'm using heatmap theme but I have probably about 10 ads on the site.
