Yea so I thought targetting pot heads would be a good idea.. Turns out no. I got grasscity over 1000 targeted traffic and they didnt buy anything! Either that or grasscity wont tell you about a sale if they made one. Maybe the site is run by the DEA and Im being watched for posting this thread right now.. in real time.

Ya, Ive been testing with them a little bit too and no buyers, I think pot heads are mainly browsers and prefer to buy from headshops... They do credit sales though

It could be young traffic.. as a young stoner within a limited social sphere(and I know from experience), the internet is the best place to explore pot culture... and mom wouldn't want a bong coming in the mail! I remember the shock on my mom's face when she saw the four foot cardboard package come in the mail. She had fortunately warmed up to my choice to smoke pot by then.

So, to extrapolate from that, target older users.

i've got sales creditted with limitted traffic, so i'm pretty positive they do credit sales, just don't expect stoners to be big buyers....

ya... its true I tried cookiestuffing it a while ago and got ZERO sales with over 1000 stuffs on their forum!

I'm a stoner myself and can say I would never buy a pipe or pretty much anything stoner related online. Most stoners I know usually only have 1 or 2 pipes and a bong, maybe a vapo.

Yeah, I used to frequent Overgrow when that was online but it was only for entertainment purposes...number one rule most people gave out was never buy online...go to your local headshop or hydro store and pay cash...

Great advise to have. I don't know any stoners who've bought a piece online. They usually want to check it out first hand.

Just a few years ago Tommy Chong (Cheech and Chong) was busted for selling head products through the mail. That was big time headlines in the head world.
The Feds also grabbed the computer mail list and sales info.
No wonder why many people would be a tad bit apprehensive of actually purchasing through the mail/online.

They have been after him for a while, they just don't like him.. It all depends on state laws, sure you can buy them local as tobacco products, but can't mail them over state lanes.. Laws are fucked.

I bought many pipes online. Cheaper prices and more variety than the local head shop.

I have over $1000 in commissions sitting with Grasscity right now, they convert very well for me. Receiving payment has been a big issue though. It has been months and I have not seen a cent. Received a few emails from their affiliate manager Simon to get my banking details sorted, then heard nothing back from the after arranging a direct deposit. Also super slow on responding to support emails. I'm thinking of moving to EveryoneDoesIt's program instead...

Part of your problem might be that grasscity's products are too expensive. I see a couple bubblers on there for around $175 that I could pick up at a decent head shop for around $100.

I would think your best bet is target newbie growers with a good grow guide through Amazon or wherever else you can find it. For example, I would target newbie growers with this book:

Anyway, I guess what I am saying is, just shift gears. Some pot heads are paranoid about the net and will never buy though....(I guess they dont know about proxies...buying/using fake paypal accounts...and mailing to a foreclosed/abandoned home) Go figure.

You just need to know your niche, and if you can't convert this you obviously don't know the niche at all, move on. Plentyof people out there buy their glass online. Not every little bum town has it's own headshop. You're clearly promoting this all wrong. I don't mean to sound like a dick, but it's true, because this has been very easy to generate sales for with even minimal traffic. I am converting my traffic very well with GrassCity. They just dick their affiliates around way too much to make promoting them worthwhile. They actually had the balls to ask me to take my payment in equal value of items from their store. WTF is that shit? I'm moving over to the EDIT affiliate program now. I spoke with an affiliate manager at AffiliateFuture recently and they seem to be much better to work with already. They reply to emails in under 2 weeks. Sweet. They also pay a couple % high commissions on sales generated, and carry just about the exact same stock, with somes slightly better pieces. Hopefully they treat me a little bit better, than GC. They just lost an affiliate who would have generated them plenty of sales.

I do wish they would keep better track of what items were sold through the store though. It's really pretty hard to say what is selling through my links, and what I should be targetting for sales in the future.

I've had no problems with weedcity, been paid out and conversions are as expected. It's pretty demo specific.

Providing you are talking about the GrassCity affiliate program, I'd have to say consider yourself lucky. They have been nothing but a pain in my ass the entire time I've promoted them. On the brightside, I know what I'm doing is working. So I'm hoping my move to EDIT's program goes well.

Thats where you would get it from.. They have a store and a site, that why I thought it would be good to stuff. Oh btw, I made 83 dollars with them and never got paid and its been mover 6 months now. So uh, that person that is waiting for that grand, sorry to say this man, but don't count on it. Min. payout was 50 dollars and I had my direct deposit setup and everything. In the end, grasscity ended up with my banking info and I ended up with hurt feelings lol. I have yet to see any offers come to me yet from them though, lol. I would never buy from them though, their pipes are lame, heh

Well, i have promoting this fucking website with all my **************, i send a lot of targeting traffic with conversion on this grasscity site, and they NEVER paid, This affiliate is a fucking Piece of Shit. It was a Waste of time and money for me

Agreed, I sent them a solid $8000 in retail sales, and they have pretty much stiffed me, fuck promoting their shitty program. AND THIS WAS LEGIT WHITEHAT TRAFFIC..

yep , i found a better affiliate in the same niche who give 10% of sales, all method allowed... and they paid all 1rst of month.

I don't think a pothead would buy something online and patiently wait for something. Plus, by the time they go online they are either to high to see the screen or burnt out.

Definitely not a money maker!

As a smoker myself I don't think I'd ever buy regular glass from an online store because it is impossible to tell the quality. I'd rather pay the 10% mark up and buy locally.

On the other hand I ordered my vaporizer online from a specialty store because the closest physical shop stocking decent vaporizers was about 100 miles away. I've only talked to one person with a vape who got it at a physical store.

A google search for vaporizer affiliate turns up a few leads.
