Amazon affiliates in CA need to consider looking around for other programs to promote. There states is trying to pass an internet sales tax bill. Arnold the Governator used to veto them. The new governor will probably not.

When the bill is turned into law, Amazon will terminate all its California affiliates just like it has in every other state that has passed similar laws. You will get no advance warning to speak of, so take steps now so you don't get screwed.

You can read about it here.

Sign up under a different state, take a trip to las vegas rent a PO box. Or get a monthly hotel room, ( cheap like 200$ a week over here )

:) There's ways around it.

I should note it isn't a certainty Amazon will cancel it. They didn't in NY, but did in every other state I know of. I think Overstock did in every state including NY.

Anyway, a heads up.

They did this to North Carolina, they closed my account and said call your representatives and complain to them.

I live in a no tax state so send the sales and we can work something out. :)

well I'm just throwing it out there. :D

I'm glad I moved out of California after they destroyed my successful offline business by cozying up with big business and passing laws in their favor. They just can't help but regulate everything into the ground and force businesses out. Oh and Dems control that state and what do you know they're money hungry power grabbing fiends in big biz's back pocket too. Can't trust politicians no matter what letter comes after their name.

Even though my family still lives there I hope they completely fuck that state up. That's what the stupid people in CA who keep voting in greedy corrupt politicians get. FU CA (Yes, I'm bitter). It's a shame because it's such a beautiful state.
