Default Having Trouble Getting Accepted Into Affiliate Networks?

After reading some requests for information on smitty's What Do You Really Want To Learn About Making Money? thread, I decided to dedicate a thread to techniques to get approved for affiliate networks. smitty's method involving starting an actual business is definitely the right way to go about getting accepted. However, if you aren't in the position to create an actual business, your next best bet is to create a company website for yourself and operate like it is a real business. Submit it as your URL. When an affiliate manager calls you to verify your phone number explain to them that this is your business' website and while it will not be generating traffic for CPA itself, that your clients will be generating traffic.

A month or so ago one of my affiliate managers that I talk to regularly told me about one of the best reasons for wanting membership he'd ever heard. He said that a co-worker of his was talking to a guy with a decent looking company website. The guy told him that he essentially worked for free, but that the way he generated income was by placing CPA offers on the sites of his clients and occasionally running promotional incentivized offers with his clients. My AM told me that the guy was approved immediately and that his account was opened up to a large number of offers that most new members are not given access to.

While I can definitely see the wrong person trying this and not getting approved, it sounds like a pretty damn good method to getting accepted.

What other techniques do you guys use to get accepted?

In my opinion, keep it simple. Buy a domain, install wordpress, make posts about current news or whatever, then start applying. I've never had an application turned down for any company and all I offered them was one of my simple news blogs.

Of course if your looking to go above and beyond just getting accepted, by all means do something more extravagant. If your just looking to get your foot in the door so to speak, keep it as simple as you can.

Yeah, any one of the premium WordPress themes that are offered on this fine forum would most likely be enough to blow away your average AM. Also, as boomboomer said, making contact via phones is also a fantastic idea. If you're good on the phones and have a decent website running, there's no reason you can't get accepted.

A very good friend of mine used to repeat the motto, "Act shady, be shady" whenever we were doing things we shouldn't have been doing when we were younger. If you avoid your AM and act like you've got something to hide, even if you're just bashful, your AM is going to assume you're up to something. Remember that they aren't necessarily initially suspicious of your intentions.

Obviously picking up the phone and talking to your AM is the best course of action, but I've never done it.

I'd recommend being honest and just letting them know what your up to. If your a newbie, tell them you are! I've talked with half a dozen AM's and they are all very knowledgeable and can actually give you tips!

NeverBlue's - Tina

and

Copeac's - Frank

Are my favorite AM's

I think people over analyze the process and come off shady and feel the need to exaggerate the truth to get accepted. The AM's are very good at reading people and if you think they aren't watching the forums and know the latest bh games, your sadly mistaken.

Be Honest - Communicate - Keep It Simple

Great post Olden!

Yah I mean setting up a real business only costs like 50-100 bucks, its real cheap. Then buy a domain and create a professional looking site real quick and you start to look like a real marketing company.

You don't really need to set up a business at all but it looks better in the eyes of the Network. It just makes sense though. Most of the people committing the fraud are just guys that register up, start filliing out fake info into offers, never communicate with their AM and then get banned.

Starting up an actual business takes literally 5 minutes to do. Hardest part is coming up with a name

But if you can't go that route here are some tips...

Create a nice looking website that is professional, no slang talk, no stupid pictures, just come off like you mean business.

After applying, call the company next day and get them to approve your account. Finally, stay in contact with your AM at least three times a week. Just shoot em an IM on AIM or something and ask them what offers are converting really well.

Most of the affiliates committing the fraud and getting banned are the ones who hide from their AM's. Not to mention over 90% of the people committing the fraud are individuals, not companies. If you are up front with them there is a huge chance they will come to you first if anything is amiss.

I've learned most of my knowledge on getting accepted to networks from Nevarc and it all works really well.

Just to give my own two pence. I have been accepted into most affiliated networks i applied to (won't name them here). I only have blogger blogs and in my application i always specify that i am a PPC expert and have been for x years

When they get those girls to call thats where i seal the deal lol. Talk to her nicely and bullshit as much as you can. One actually asked me how much i make per month for my other networks and when i told her she signed me on and my AM called after 3 days telling me she was putting me on direct debit payment.

So i will say even if you dont have a regular website make sure your blogger blog or whatever has some good post and then bullshit your way in (it works but not all the time). Good Luck
