Why eBay Joined Pepperjam?

This is just a guess and I may be right...

Well...it's not like eBay is retard but they are smart.

There is no doubt that eBay is looking for affiliates to promote their sites and at the same time they want to make sure that their old affiliate does not stop promoting because of migration. Many big affiliates have been complaining with tracking issues of EPN and they do not want to promote eBay through EPN. At the same time eBay do not want to loose those affiliates. That can be one of the reason of partnering with Pepperjam....

Let's think...why eBay took over Paypal? It's not because eBay can not create site like Paypal but because Paypal has database of millions of customers which eBay can get without much effort

In the same way, eBay is looking for affiliates and they can get ready made affiliates without much effort by partnering with CPA sites...

I was approved for the PJ eBay program within 1 hour.

As for Pepperjam and eBay, read it closely, PJ is working WITH eBay and I don't think that means they are taking over EPN. I would be really surprised if eBay dumps EPN for strictly PJ. I think they are just creating another affiliate program with PJ.

Anyone know how PJ feels about cookie stuffin?

I am wondering the same about cookie stuffing. What did you say on the Pepperjam application to get approved so quickly?

I don't know the real reason about that...

It can be internal problem between CJ and eBay

OR

eBay found out that CJ is at the saturation point of giving them new affiliates

OR

eBay do not want to pay the cost which CJ charge etc...etc...etc...

I didn't really say anything that I remember, I just applied to them. I already am running a few other offers from them and have been with EPN for sometime as well.

I just chatted with Mandy the Manager for their e*bay program... She said because I checked email on my advertising methods, they had to look into it case by case. I just told her that I don't use email for e*bay marketing, and she approved me immediately.

Just make sure you only have checked the methods that are in e*p*n's current tos and you should be approved no prob.

I chatted with Mandy too using the chat box provided by Pepperjam and I got approved. Very nice customer service...

Also, I found out that Pepperjam is using their EPN account to track commission.

The link they are providing gets forwarded to EPN tracking link and then to destination page.

This system is nothing but same kind of system like shoppingads.com...

Unfortunately, people who are facing problem with EPN tracking will face the same problem with Pepperjam.

Well...the link they are providing is getting forwarded to EPN tracking link and then to destination page. For e.g When I created text link for destination page ebay.com, I received following non-encrypted link -

Code:
http://www.pjtra.com/t/2-4**1-7*99-69**?sid=denny&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com
The above link is getting forwarded to below EPN link and then to destination page ebay.com -

Code:
http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/71*-53*0-192*5-0/1?type=1&campid=53*5*47*3&toolid=10001&customid=77*9-453*57-denny&mpre=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com
So...basically Pepperjam link automatically generate custom id and they will track the commission of my Pepperjam account with custom ID result which they will get from their EPN account.

We are just acting like sub-affiliate of Pepperjam's main account with EPN...

I am so disappointed it's not funny...

Do their cookies at least last 30 days like they have advertised, or is it the same 7 day one that e*p*n has, and only 30 day for new signups?

I got this email shortly after joining the pepperjam network. It pretty much outlaws most ppc and paid traffic....

Thanks for signing up to the eBay Partner Network - we really appreciate your continuing support.

Over the last few weeks, many of you have been asking questions about our policies regarding use of paid search campaigns and ad networks. We thought it would be helpful to provide some clarifications. This is important, because any affiliate that violates the eBay Partner Network Code of Conduct, Network Agreement, Program Terms or Privacy Statement runs the risk of being expired from the eBay Partner Network and/or having their pending commissions reversed.

Paid Search

What is Paid Search?

  • Direct Paid Search is where an affiliate buys keywords on a search engine and directly links the traffic to eBay from the search engine's sponsored listings.
  • Indirect Paid Search is where an affiliate purchases keywords, but directs traffic to a non-eBay domain landing page that contains lin
