No Adwords Competition

Hey guys, just a quick question for those who know a lot about Adwords.

I have started a blog and have some products I would like to market on it, mainly from Clickbank.

The main keywords I have looked at have absolutely no adwords competition and this has been the case ever since starting the blog. I was wondering if this means I can bid around $0.05 and have my ads displayed.

I understand that no competition generally means the niche isn't profitable, however I think it could be (there is some gravity on clickbank). I think profit could only be made from PPC if I was able to generate the traffic at the very low cost as I mentioned.

There is quite a large volume of searches, so even if profit per person was small, if I was able to be displayed in position 1 on Google, I could get a decent amount of visitors, then who knows. It is certainly worth the risk, but only at the lowest cost per click.

So if anyone has any experience as to whether this is possible, please let me know!

AdWords has gotten very strict with affiliate stuff. Especially clickbank, it's almost impossible to promote clickbankproducts with adwords. As soon as there is 1 link on your landingpage to clickbank your account will be banned.

I can vouch for that. They banned my AdWords account then just before payment was due on my AdSense account they banned that too. F*ckers.

Sorry should have made this clear. I have my own blog and am creating my own product for the niche. It will be nothing to do with clickbank, however due to the lack of adwords competition I thought I'd check out if there were any sales on clickbank of similar products (which there were).

So I know there are some sales to be made, and whether the site will be profitable will really depend on how cheap I can get clicks for with there being no PPC comp...

Well first of all, if there is no competition in theory you can get all $0.01 clicks. However what's also very important for AdWords is the Quality Score of the keywords. The Quality score is calculated by AdWords by combining a large number of parameters. The most important is that the landingpage is relevant for the keyword. For example: if you make a blog about traveling and you want to bid on the keyword "lose weigth" then the quality score will be really low. However if you make a blog about vacation in the bahamas and your keyword is "vacation bahamas" then it should have a better quality score. There are more factors that are important for this quality score, if your CTR has been low AdWords will think your ad is not that relevant for the keyword and then it reduces the quality score and then you have to pay more per click.
There is no way to predict how this will go but test it with a limited budget and see what the QS is, if it's lower than 7 after a day or 2 it will not be as profitable as you want it to be.
