AdWords ban spree?
Has anyone else been hit with a ban spree on adwords? I signed up with adwords a few weeks ago, using my real info. I forgot about it for a while due to other PPC networks I use, and they sent me an Email with a voucher. That got me motivated to jump on adwords. I signed up using my adsense account email, and all of my information. When it asked for payment I put in the voucher like it said. A few days later I was perm banned because they "could not verify my billing information".
After Emailing them and deal with total idiots, I called them. They said it was just a temporary review, etc. I get an Email the next day and they tell me that it is in fact permanently banned. When I log into adwords all I see is that it was banned for billing information. I told them "Well how are you sending me checks for adsense if the billing address is wrong? You don't have a cc on file from me because I was on the trial credit." and they never replied to me.
So I had a my neighbor try to sign up to see what happened (different IP of course), they submitted all their info and didn't start any campaigns yet. A few hours later their account was under review. However they added their CC to their account. Four days later their account is permanently banned from adwords. Same reason, unable to verify it.
They didn't add a voucher, they didn't do anything to their account except set up the billing. WTF is going on with adwords? I've since decided to make fake accounts, 9/10 of them died almost instantly. Obviously I know how to hide myself via proxies, vpn's and various other methods including using VPS, dedicated servers, rooted windows boxes, etc. I don't understand what is going on with google. I tried to run a legitimate campaign and got banned for no real reason, so now I have blackhat methods to deal with adwords campaigns without going into details. To be honest I'd rather just pay the bills and do it legitimately but with my account being banned I have no idea what to do. Has anyone had any success getting their account unbanned?

Re: AdWords ban spree?
I've been able to help a handful of people get their accounts unbanned.
From what I read it sounds like your account was banned for another reason but they just told you it was because of a billing issue. Most of the time Google will not tell you the exact reasons why they ban your account and will give you some vague excuse.
To be honest, your biggest mistake was replying to the email you received from them. Email support goes to the Google employees who can't represent the company via online chat or telephone and get 90% complaints so they are not willing to help you at all. Plus, once you contact them via email they will leave a note in your file stating that they have already talked to you and there can be nothing else done for your account. When other employees see you have previously tried to get your account unbanned from another employee, they will very very rarely help you.
I don't know what type of product you were promoting, but I'm guessing that your product/website did not meet Google's guidelines and broke a policy. If you PM me your website address I can easily confirm this for you.
Also, Google uses browser and computer fingerprints to determine if someone's attempting to create additional accounts. So if you take your laptop to the other end of the world and create an account they will still know it's you. If you want to know how to get around this PM me and I'll tell you.
But to answer your original two questions:
1) Yes, Google does ban in sprees whenever a new policy is rolled out - tons of new accounts are banned if they are not in compliance with the policy.
2) Based on what I've read above, I'm 90% certain your account is unsavable.

Re: AdWords ban spree?
Browser fingerprints is basically the uniqueness of your computer/browser configurations.
For example, when you visit Google.com Google knows the following:
- Your browser
- Your location
- Your installed fonts
- Your browser addons
- Your screen resolution
- Your flash compatibility
- Your javascript support
- Your color settings
- Your language settings
- Your time zone
- If your cookies are enabled
- Your ISP
- Your operating system
Now unless you are a regular joe who doesn't have any apps, large monitors, or any installed fonts that are not standard, it is very easy for Google to tell who you are by the combination of above settings.
For a better idea, search google for browser footprint and go to the panopticlick site becasue they will tell you how unique your browser fingerprint is.
For example, it says that 1 in 2million computers have the same browser footprint as me...which means Google can easily tell who I am.

Re: AdWords ban spree?
Thanks proweb, I shot you a PM. If you can find anything it's great, like really it will be great. I think being banned without knowing why when I was doing everything legit is what's bugging me more than anything lol

Re: AdWords ban spree?
That's very interesting. I didn't really knew all of this went into the footprint. I'm sure there is a lot more that they know and keep track of as well.

Your browser fingerprint appears to be unique among the 1,824,803 tested so far.

Re: AdWords ban spree?
funny thing..
i am going to use IE having no addons and toolbars..
google can still say I am unique in millions?
Of course, using with proxy..
Edit: http://panopticlick.eff.org/
Your browser fingerprint appears to be unique among the 1,824,884 tested so far.
Currently, we estimate that your browser has a fingerprint that conveys at least 20.8 bits of identifying information.
woot! I have no addons.. only plain simple IE and I am unique?

Re: AdWords ban spree?
Google has been auto-banning a lot of accounts lately. If the account is "legit" you can contact them and a live person will evaluate the account.
One of my main adwords accounts has been suspended 4 times in the last month. I email them, describing the situation, and they unban it in a few days. The person told me the process is automated and said something in my account kept triggering the ban. He said they are currently working on tweaking the automation so it doens't auto-ban legit accounts.

Re: AdWords ban spree?
I got banned and made a call, and the customer service rep helped me out.

Re: AdWords ban spree?
Yes, there is a big banning spree going on right now. I was just banned too but am confident I can get back in with my account.
As a previous member pointed out anytime they roll out a new policy they go nuts with the banning.
Just call them up and carefully explain your situation. If you're cool with the rep they will usually help you out.
