I entered the country code, followed by my local area code in there, but after all I'm not from China. Maybe if you're from China it's the area code.

If nothing else work out, you may want to try with a phone from china, google for one.

When you click on the button you should be transferred to a thank you page.

I agree with you. This looks like 100% scam. They are probably going to send them emails later that their account information needs to be updated. Guys if any of you receives email asking you paypal password don't click on links inside the email. Go to paypal.com and ask their support.
