This is from 2008, so 3-4 years old. Wonder if there is any valid information for today's conditions?

After the panda update things have been harder to achieve, it's not like the good old days. But still there is money to do with some effort and pantiance seo.

Does this still work or even partially work today?

Yes this method works. It always has, and it always will, because the core is quality content.

Now, the amount in which you make per site will depend on many factors. KW's, CPC, ad placement, content etc etc...

Some sites will make more than you expect, and some will make less. The key is to just keep building new sites, while maintaining the old.

For example, I have a site that has only 3 content pages. One of the "content" pages is literally 2 sentences and a bunch of pictures. I have built less than 5 backlinks to the domain, but am making around $200 a month from it. Less than 5 hours total that I put into this.

On the other hand, I have an authority site that has hundreds of quality backlinks, around 20 quality articles, all with decent PR, ranking for over 2 dozen KW's on first page of G, yet makes maybe $2 a month. WHY? Not many advertisers, so the ads aren't very relevant. (One of my very first sites). So, I build a list from it instead.

Bottom Line - Building AS sites is still very profitable and you can reach $100k, or $200k a year if you put in enough work. The only thing different today is that quality matters more than ever. Using quality articles and getting quality backlinks is the key....it always has been...

Can you get to $100k - $200k/year in the time-frame that the OP states? Probably not. But you CAN get there....eventually.

Sure it can help ... assuming you are using it as a foundational learning tool for Adsense knowledge. There are lots of resources, but things change periodically & you have to stay on top of it all.

Unique content + Traffc == Good income
