I had a few adsense sites about 2 years ago; but I got too busy and couldn't keep up with them. I'm thinking about resurrecting them, and maybe adding a few more; but are people still making money with adsense?

you can still make money, but its a lot harder... Clicks are worth less, and it is harder to get traffic.

there is still A LOT of money to be made from adsense as always it's just not as easy to obtain traffic due to google changing their ways every 2nd day - once you get traffic heading your way, specific niche = specific ads appearing there is no reason for you not to be making money.

I disagree. I made my first proper Adsense earnings last month (Around R1500), and I am planning to upscale that figure over the next few months.. I'm sure a few other members here are making a nice living with Adsense too.

Adsense bans people for traffic not converting into sales for advertisers. You have to make sure that the keywords you use, turn into sales for the advertisers. It is basically you giving leads or sales to advertisers for a small commission.

i am getting direct traffic from facebook twitter pinterest and some other smaller website which is enough for me to get 30 - 40 a day ... problem with the this traffic is that you need constant work otherwise it all will be gone !!!!

Of course you can still earn money. Just think long term, white hat, and find motivation to work - a residual income should be that motivation.
It's not a quick game, is not an easy game, but as far as my experience go, from a long term stable residual income possibility, Adsense is by far number 1. Your partner is Google- you can hardly find a stabler partner...
