Get the right ads to show up
I've been trying and trying, but I can't seem to get the right adsense ads to show up on my site. The ones I got now are too general to my niche and don't pay that well.
In the contexttool the keywords I rank for are about 2$ (on normal, cpc is 7-11$). But on the website the clicks only give 0.50-80$ at max.
Is there any way to improve this so I get the specific ads to show up?

Mate, there are lots of factors included. I will mention of one of them. High paying keywords are shown mostly on authoritative sites/blogs.
Like a real world situation. You pay less for the same commercial in a local newspaper. But it goes very high for The New York Times lol.

You can block an advertisement category in adsense itself.

Re: Get the right ads to show up
You can add a piece of code into your adsense script to target specific keywords, which google allows, but it has to be relevant to your website. I can't seem to find it doing a search at the moment, but its possible, i used to run it on a site.

I can understand that high paying keywords will show up more on authority sites. But many people here use EMDs and get the high paying keywords. About the New york times comparison. The main reason the ads are more expensive is because it got more visitors, they pay per impression. With adsense you pay per click so it shouldn't matter much?

Already did, but after blocking out a few you are unable to block more in a certain category.

Googled a bit, couldn't find it either. Maybe someone else knows about this?

Re: Get the right ads to show up
suggested Google page is removed, any chance someone knows what was on that page since I also have problems with Adsense ads. I have around 50-60 clicks per day and only around $1

Re: Get the right ads to show up
G has been catching on to MFA sites my friends.
there are a lot of factors to think about in this situation, but there is not much you can do to help it.
1. most ads displayed now are interest based ads, so they can sometimes be totally un-related to your site.
2. i know what i just said above, but still, make sure your site and content are optimized for the ads that you want, but getting the high paying ads is still not guaranteed.
3. think about the time of year, for example, december clicks will pay much higher than february clicks because of the holiday season.
many other factors also, but overall, interest based ads are probably your biggest problem.

Re: Get the right ads to show up
where is your traffic coming from? it it's from twitter or adsense.. then there's your problem. I think you are getting "filler" ads.
